Sundew Edition

>I want to learn the game, where do I begin?
Download PTCGL at https://tcg.pokemon.com/en-us/tcgl
The game has a quick tutorial and a bunch of decent decks to get you started against other beginners or against the AI. Some of those decks are very close to meta too. You can also go to your local game store and see if people are playing Pokémon.

>I know how to play, how do I make my own deck?
You have a decent beginner's guide at https://www.justinbasil.com/guide
There's also the old /tcg/ guide at https://imgur.com/a/W4NkOu6
After that, look up meta decks and try to reverse engineer them to see how things work.

>Where to find meta decks?
For big irl events, go to https://limitlesstcg.com/decks
For online events, go to https://play.limitlesstcg.com/decks?game=PTCG
For japanese events, go to https://pokecabook.com/archives/1417

I won a league challenge yesterday with Dragapult AMA
I won an ETB, wondering if I should open it or sell it sealed to someone else.

This is a mediocre deck I've built on the fly.
This might be useable to a degree?
I'm flopping between between hourglass and balloon, because I could swap between the two megas each turn, but it would rely on me having all 4 tynamo each game, to load up and keep swapping.
It's all designed that if one piece doesn't work, another solution can be there to fall back on.
I probably need shaymin though in this deck. But this is a rough proof of concept, kilowattrel is only for draw power, I thought about maybe bellibolt for just a method to dump energies into the game so I can slowly churn them into discard along with ultra balls.
Joltik is a nice turn 2 energy generator/searcher, stunfisk is just funni.

Joltik/stunfisk could be cut for shaymin/pad and possible bellibolt bench warmer if it makes more sense. I'll try playtesting it later.
I just think it's funny because almost nothing is running switch/active pokemon lock, so paralysis lock would be funny. The only problem decks would be lucari/garchomp because of rocky fighting energy. Might need hammers as well.

everyone will kneel by the time 2027 rotation comes around

>pokemon is paralyzed
How are you doing that without a switch mate? Also 350 HP isn't nothing, but also they entire point of the deck is that they are front and center most of the fight.
The only issue would be zam, which is just hand control.
>>
>>59219526
Where Meowth?
>>
Anyone else going to Los Angeles Regionals next weekend? I'm thinking of bringing Chicken Pult for all the Crustle copycats and other grass decks.
>>
>>59220061
Disingenous stats, it should be made with average points per player.
>>
>>59220198
If that was the case then starmie would be considered the bdif
>>
>>59220061
Olives representation is all I need.
>>
>>59220244
Now that you mention it, for some reason they lumped olives with ogerpon/meganium.
>>
>>59220259
They have been for a while The deck list should really be Ogerpon-Arboliva-Meganium but I don't think they do 3 Pokemon type decks.
>>
>>59220259
Has been that way since forever
>>
Still surprised a Garchomp with no recovery and no stadiums managed to get 4th, the second best Garchomp is like 100th, I know the player is good but how much of that was also just playing Dragapult?

Definitely hit the pults and dodged the grasspons, pretty fortuitous run.
>>
>>59220386
That's cool, only few changes I'd make to the list is some recovery, maybe Lana's aid and a night stretcher or just Lana's aid, 1 Larry is more than enough I doubt you will use 2 Larry in one game, there's also the Surfer tech and even Kieran which are a second swtich with extra functionality, I think I'll test those out

>Notes about Prague
>1. Dragapult putting up prime Lugia Vstar numbers
>2. Crustle with an almost 60% win rate (this will not happen again)
>3. Lucario on fraud watch
>4. Alakazam struggled to convert in a heavy pult metagame
5. Festival Lead should be considered a meta deck
>>
>>59220480
6. Garchomp got lucky

Turns out dragapult isn't all bark.
And it's going to get better with red card soon..
>>
>>59219913
Not there yet, it might be a contender.
My issue as I mull this over is that I am concerned over bench availability, but also, there is almost no good bench support for this unless I'm grossly forgetting something.
The only thing that jumped out at me was Todescruel for bench mobility.
If I had something like dewgong's wash out for electric, I'd feel a lot more optimistic.
>>
>>
What's a good matchup against Raging Bolt with Wellspring, Kang and Teal Mask
>>
>>59221504
crustle if they haven't teched for it yet
>>
Playing the Pult/Dudun list, and I'm not feeling it. It feels super focused on the mirror + beating Crustle. Maybe I just need to play it more.
>>
>>59222161
It is focused on that, yes. That's what the meta in Prague was expected to be and why it did so well
>>
Are people playing Doublade at all? Does Doublade beat any other decks?
>>
>>59222277
Beats the same decks Zam beats, assumedly. But it's also a worse Zam by every metric.
>>
>>59222296
So it's bad against TR Mewtwo and Blaziken Pult and Garchomp?
>>
>>59220732
Was really hoping to see my nigga Venusaur in there somewhere :(
>>
>beating a festival lead final boss to get into master league as garchomp

feels good
>>
Fuck it I'm adding Growing Grass to Arboliva
>>
>>59223258
based. was thinking about doing it in beedrill but i need to look into seeing what +20 actually does in this meta
>>
>>59223293
I just know that going past 210 for Teal Mask will save it from some stuff and same with over 310 for Arboliva, in any case if I draw it, just using that instead of a regular energy always seems beneficial
>>
>>59223308
It may seem beneficial, but you can't find it with bug catching set so you're either forcing yourself to draw into it or finding it with Colress if you run that for some reason. I don't think the Beedrill one specifically runs that many energy but in either case finding the energy is very much desired so you can play the game. You can't even attach it with ogerpon's ability either so it seems kind of bad for that deck.
>>
>>59223166
>
>>
>>59223398
I might just run 1 Colress desu
Even if it may not seem good it may save me once from a dragapult putting 10 into teal mask, it's just situational but not bad

Clefable deck is so bad against the decks it can't copy like N's Zoroark or Rocket Honcho, but it's very fun to copy your opponent's move.
Mega Clefable and Aromatize being the outs against the uncopiable moves is bad, but it doesn't make the match outright impossible.

I always thought he was in a straightjacket when I was young. Like he was such a crazy psycho that they had to come get him and put him away.

So I played mega elektross a bit.
It has some merit when it's allowed to like, preform.
Perchurant EX kinda kills the gimmick a bit, but I'm sure you can find a way to play around it, plus you don't see them too often anyways.
Really the big flaw of the mega is the fact risky ruins exists, and fucking Tynamo is 40 HP for some reason. I didn't realize how problematic it would be, and for how low it is,
I can see festival lead kicking my ass too because everything is so low and vulnerable turn 1/2.
Stunfisk is pretty based though to open with. An absolute menace. Retreat lock for 160 in two turns with 1 energy. Or even if they evo to an EX knock it, I can swap and I'm dealing 290 with eeltrkross. The only shame it's 10 HP short of a KO on a pult.
The deck could be *something* if it wasn't dependent on a weak vulnerable bench. The stage 2 is only 90 HP. I have to basically set up protections since they are my only answer to energy recycling/hand draw.
