Cutiefly, yes, it belongs to the bee flies, but I think it could easily have a regional form based on the housefly.

I like this version because the evolution is a parody of Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies, and it makes a perfect contrast with Ribombee, who is more like a fairy or a good daimon (shoulder angel)

Shut the fuck up. I'm ignoring it on purpose, dumbass.

That honestly looks pretty good

A true sailfish or swordfish, Tapu Fini is more like a deity whose shell mimics the shape of the fish, but a true swordfish would be great, or an evolution of Wishiwashi into a gigantic tuna that no longer needs the protection of the school of fish.

While searching on Google, I found this trade evolution between a Shelmet (Sea Snail version?) and a Wishiwashi

>>RhiBOMBee
It's based on the Bombyliidae family of flies who mimic bees and leave their babies in beehives to be raised by bees.

>rhiBOMBee
actually its because she studied math at Harvard
>>
We can have multiple Pokemon based on the same animals, just change the typing and theme/etc.
>>
>>59219985
Sharks are surprisingly lacking. Sharpedo is a Tiger Shark, Mega Sharpedo is a Sawshark, and Garchomp is a Hammerhead but that's about it.

Given how Gamefreak likes making fucked up dex entries, I am shocked they didn't have Ribombee take a page from changeling myths and do something similar for other bug 'mons.
>>
>>59219965
How did they turn based Genbu into this.
>>

I am surprised we don't have a rhino. He have and elephant, lion, hippo giraffe, crocodile, so you think we would have a rhino at some point.

This was the perfect moment to use the lore of changelings, usually a fairy, troll, or elf baby who was swapped with a human child so that the human would care for and raise them. When the child reached adulthood, they would abandon their human parents and return to the forest, while the human child would be enslaved or devoured. The only way to get your child back was to notice the change quickly and threaten to burn the fake-baby in fire or with cold iron. Then the fairy mother would appear and return the human baby. This tale was how certain European regions explained the birth of children with malformations, congenital defects, or even mental illnesses or homosexuality (there's a funny story that explains how a handsome, single man never touched a woman because he was actually an elf who found human women smelled unpleasant).

Anyway, with Ribombe, they had the perfect opportunity for this, where the mother hid her eggs in the nests of other Pokémon.

>baby is born with a cleft palate
>think it’s actually a fairy baby
>stab it through the eye with a hot poker
feels like this is a bad lesson to teach folks

It's just standard eugenics instincts. Other animals kill odd offspring as well.
>>
We do not have a jerboa. It's a fun looking rodent, so it could be a pika clone.

First Capikara, the water electric pokemon
