>>59224591For context my first game was Blue version, I think the best overall gen was 4, I can't say I have any special memories with any of the games, and I think the overall worst gen from what I've played has to be Gen 5 just because of how agonizingly slow the first half of both sets of games are because NPCs won't shut the fuck up and let you actually play the game, they just spew exposition I do NOT care about.

>>59224591I dont care what anyone says, Gen 4 through 6 was the best era of Pokemon games.Cool new Pokemon, lots of side stuff to do like Contests, Musicals, Pokestar studio, engaging stories, neat character designs, and I actually feel close to my Pokemon, since you can do so much like walk with them in HGSS, and pet them in Pokeamie. Not to mention around this time was when we had a lot of spin-off games that I wish were on the list, but those help compliment the gens. I miss this level of enjoyment. SV, PLA and ZA have proved to me that they can still do good stories and characters, but theirs just still more missing...

I can't really judge BW, since I've only played the Volt White romhack, which was very fun but probably very different than the original. I still think I would've liked it much more than Diamond/Pearl if I played it back in the day.
First game was Crystal, best gen was 4 and worst was 6.Took me too long to realize that I like catching mons much more than battling them.

By the time you finish the E4 for the first time, your pokemon will be in the early to mid 50s if you've actually been fighting trainers and not just skipping every encounter to avoid EXP like a disingenuous faggot.You want a real dogshit level curve, try FRLG where the levels leap from giovanni's pokemon who are almost all in the mid-low 40s to the mid-upper 50s with lorelei and beyond with all the other E4.

I ended up beating her by chugging a lot of SpDef X and praying to tank those Psychics. Her Espeon is dummy strong man. I wish I was shitting you but I'm talking to you with all the good faith in the world. You play a team of 6 or 5 pokemon and even if you stick to those six from the very beginning you're NOT going to have enough experience and levels. Going through TWO Rocket lairs with 30 trainers all of them sporting the same level 20 Rattata doesn't help.
