Novice Trainers are sent out to battle Tenna first as a means of acclimating them to Gym challenges. Additionally, the fresh-faced kiddos relate to her, uh, 'youthful' personality quite a bit. Don't let Tenna's immaturity fool you, though. She's still got PLENTY of ways to punish the careless who believe throwing random Ground-types at her means a guaranteed Badge. Bemoans her inability to find a husband at her (real) age, but has yet to realize that there are MANY younger men who see her as the most eligible bachelorette in Omven, if not on the planet."Team:-Chinchou, Level 12, Volt Absorb, Bold, Male. >>59232837Manaphy's pokedex says it will swim great distances to it's place of birth. Considering how real world animals work, this is clearly talking about breeding without saying breeding since it's a kid's game. It's other entries say it's born with the power to bond with other pokemon, which means that there's more than one and rsearchers have witnessed them being born/hatching. In other words, nothing about Manaphy's lore seems to imply it's anything more than a rare pokemon.>>59233013other way around. Phione is the warm water one. You probably need the egg to hatch on the icy cold sea floor for it to be a manaphy. That would also explain why Manaphy always returns to it's birthplace to breed. Takes the job very seriously."As with Nadia's predecessor, the Omven League's guidelines for the Splitteam City Gym have instructed her to field a Malamar as a challenger's first 'stat check', a fully-evolved Pokémon that is a struggle to overcome for the under-prepared. Malamar's BST is less than Starmie's BST, a fact that does not escape Trainers from Kanto who struggled to defeat Misty and earn the Cascade Badge. While she is being prepared to serve as Gym Leader of Omven's most sports-enthusiastic city, Nadia is significantly less of a baseball fanatic than Scarry. She does plan to keep the 'strikeout' Gym Challenge, as it's iconic. Sacrifices too much sleep and leisure time to train, teach, and research. Her team has a reputation for hitting faster and harder than Bug-types have a right to do. Suffers from mild impostor syndrome. Elesa has spent years trying to coax Taylor out of her figurative shell (and Wormadam-like wardrobe) and into a pair of skinny jeans--it's like she's forgotten what 'fun' is. Taylor is from a declining port town in Fidera, with her own journey finishing at her home regions Elite 4. Secretly has the body of a runway model underneath her baggy, muted clothes--all legs, toned stomach, hard gaze that's the scary sort of arousing. She finds this highly embarrassing of course. >>59233655Murkyset City's deputy Gym Leader Reeshia (Water-type Speciality) is next in line to take the Gym over when Atano hangs up the mantle. Jacinthe seemed to be very well-received by the fandom at large, at least from what I've seen, so I figured I'd blatantly do the same thing and make a black girl with purple hair from the big city who was also somewhat unusual--her entire thing is swimming, diving, the whole shebang. Unlike Jacinthe, Reeshia isn't a single-minded asshole."The Murkyset City Gym has a long history of appointing Gym Leaders who excel in defensive battling, which has no doubt benefited from the natural bulkiness of many Water-types. As a former triathlete and long-distance paddleboarder, Reeshia knows well the value of endurance and carefully planning her decisive strikes. Her knowledge of sports medicine has been enhanced by her predecessor's own medical background. As a result, challengers should not expect to deal with her Gym teams in a few super-effective shots. While she isn't the same legendary mentor of Pokémon Rangers Atano is, Reeshia excels at mentoring younger Trainers in dealing with the physical and mental travails of a journey across the Omven Region."Team:-Gastrodon, Level 32, Inner Focus, Sassy, Female. I tried to think about more mons that could fit the backrooms, but besides porygon (because glitch in the world/system/game) and some of the dimension hopping ones like the Cosmog evo line and Hoopa (who is not in the program), nothing else comes to mind.

I've been in here since the "First" type of trainer thread. The ones with ming-ming i've just been silently looking and watching sometimes until more drama comes up and watch
>>59264408Unless you can time travel to a one year and one month ago, this thread has been pretty chill.
Good morning, /tog/.I hope you guys are having a great week.
>>59264313I never like Hidden Powers on trainer teams. Otherwise, I dig the setup.
>>59265182Hell yeah, I am.
I like seeing "OC teams" because of the contrast.Competitive teams are completely bloated with Gen9 mons. Iron Valiant, Tusk, Hands, Flutter, Koraidon/Miraidon, Gholdengo and stuff. And yet, even though they're constantly used, their appeals never seem to trickle down to teams that people actually dream of having outside of the competitive space.I really do think the quality of 'mon designs has declined a lot in the past few gens. Regional forms were cute, but the tidal wave of "It's just a pokemon from before, but made of metal" is... kind of lame. Its lameness is proven by how nobody wants to touch these 'mons with a 10 foot pole outside of how broken they are in battle.Anyways, just pondering. /blog
>>59265272I like when OC teams are more focused into telling the OC's story rather than see a guy with a full evo comp team.Like, yeah, I get it: meta rules. But only because you aren't "the main hero" it doesn't mean you must have leads to become important.Sometimes, one silly mon, shitter or not, is enough to tell you about the guy/gal.Like >>59264166: A naughty Nickit that plays with a shy dark trainer. Is cute.As for the Deino, it can turn into her evolving beyond her shell. Is a good idea.
>>59265539>I like when OC teams are more focused into telling the OC's story rather than see a guy with a full evo comp team.Hell yeah. I guess, on that front, I'm just saying so many of the new gen pokemon don't evoke that "Story" kind of feel. The fuck is the personality of someone who has an Iron Hands on their team? "I like winning" I guess.Love to see all the unique teams in these threads. I think the general avoidance of new-gen mons vaguely indicates they lack a certain staying power in peoples' hearts.
Cain's team.Depending on the path he takes, Charcadet will either become Armarouge or Ceruledge.
>>59265803... you know, I have no idea why but I always imagined Charcadet + its evolutions as Legendaries.I was going to bring up obligatory muh no legendaries rule. Hey though, turns out you're good.Love the team. Kaijumons are always based.
>>59265842Yeah, it does seem like Charcadet was intended as a babby-legend.Cain's team is primarily built around how a 12 year old would ideally build a stack of six tough monstery-mons. A Giant Gator, Rocky Godzilla, Baragon incarnate, A kick-ass shadowy Lynx and a goddamn AXE DRAGON. Cain's team is meant to represent "the coolest kid's team" without going full meta or introducing legends to the mix.And I think we can all appreciate a bunch of "tough guy" mons at the end of the day.
>>59265856>Cain's team is primarily built around how a 12 year old would ideally build a stack of six tough monstery-mons. >tfw I'll never figure out the full teamit's ogre
>>59225715An idea I've been experimenting with is something I call "Affinity", where trainers who have a connection to a particular Type begin to take on some of its traits. It's pretty well known that certain Psychic type trainers have minor telekinetic powers and that certain Fighting type trainers can spar with Pokemon that posess superhuman strength even though neither of those things should be physically possible (seriously, do you think a non-enhanced human would be able to trade blows with a Machamp). I don't really feel like making one for every Type right now, but I wanted to get out the idea that I had for Steel, which is basically just... kind of being a Steel type. He gets proficiency with basically anything made out of metal, usually blades and firearms but I could also extend it to regular items like cooking utensils, and he also gets some kind of "resistance" to them as well (basically being able to get shot and stabbed more than the average person) in addition to being able to handle heavier metal objects (and recoil) easier despite not being muscular. Maybe this also correlates with elevated levels of minerals in his body. This isn't really like the Aura Guardians who are born with it, it's a bit weaker because it has to be developed over time. It's not established canon, but it's reasonably extrapolated from the two examples I gave, so I think it's believable enough. Admittedly, it's also kind of a bit superfluous lore because there's not going to be any actual gunplay or other combat in the writing that I have planned so far. Pictured here are two reproductions of firearms, he got the design for the left from Steven Stone and he got the design for the right from Drayden. I'm not a huge fan of asymmetry so maybe he has a two piece set of each rather than only having one. I have designs for custom firearms for him as well but I feel doing Pokemon designs might make the idea of firearms a bit more acceptable to readers.
>>59266160Duraludon dual pistol design. I would probably want to put a suppressor on this as well.
>>59266175>The ugliest pokemon becomes a cool weapon.Makes sense.
>>59266175Inteleon pistol, probably needs a suppressor as well.
>>59266160Honestly, I always just assumed X type trainers were drawn to that type because of their interests.Interesting spin on the idea.

>>59265539The components are appreciated. Have the picrew I used when I initially designed her.
>>59266717Adorable girl
>>59266160>"Affinity", where trainers who have a connection to a particular Type begin to take on some of its traits.Isn't that already kind of canon with how trainer classes are in the games, like hex maniacs, fossil people being ground types, etc? Though you are saying that they will become more "their attuned type", so I can see the difference. like now water trainers could probably breathe underwater or plant type trainers being able to control vines or something similar with the flora of the world.>>59265539I have done shots with the full evo team, but I do have to admit that they kind of feel off, At least crobat and lucario make sense that they are evolved because being friendship evos they "evolve quickly". I still have no idea if I want charcadet/ceruledge and Larvesta/volcarona in his team, but I really like these pokemon.>>59266256>>59266271I wonder where you got these gun designs, They look nice.>>59266717Looks bullyable, Which other Pokemon you plan to give to her? scrafty or more dark types?

>>59268154Its 8 because someone I know recently modded in a bunch of extra mons in the program I use, so I kinda wanted to add some mons to the team regardless of the specific team size.>>59268621It would be more his parents, as he is more doing a self discovery journey.>>59268748If I do want to move with the canonical 8 team, I will just say that since he rarely does official/gym matches, the 8 team limit is not enforced, or at least he doesn't see a reason to stick with it, or maybe say that the Eevee doesn't count as it is his childhood pet, and larvesta basically just hatched and is still a lv5.
>>59269685>The 8 team limit is not enforcedAccording to the anime, it is. The ball is automatically teleported, but the household pets argument can work, since technically they aren't "caught" pokémon.
>>59268154six pokemon is too few anyway. We need to bump the team to 7 or 8. Your average RPG has like 8 or 9 characters and they field 4 at once instead of just one or two.

>>59265572Hai, it's me (it'll be too obvious if I post an image). Crawled from the darkest pits of hell to come here and say that, in this short:https://youtu.be/LvlwKAv15XU?feature=sharedPart of it is about continuously winning, sure, it's a small part of it, but it's there. So I think it's possible to come up with a compelling story for a trainer with a Iron Hands (part of the story would *have* to be how they even got such Pokémon in the first place), tho that won't be me.I guess part of the problem would also be how to give robot Pokémon personalities, or actually expressiveness? Anyways. Also, there's another PokéToon short about the fire MegaMan and the blue fire MegaMan, which are newer mons, it doesn't exactly counter the argument that newer mons have less staying power, but I wanted to mention it.>>59264166>Easily scaredI know someone who would have a field day with her.
>>59271268Turns out I could have posted an image without giving myself away, this one, that shows Iron Moth being a happy moth.
>>59271271Oh yeah, context...The moonrunes are showing how petting each of the variants is fluffy, but then Iron Moth is completely smooth, having no fur, it starts to feel dejected, but then the human pets it anyways, and then it becomes quite happy.
>>59271268>>59271271I think part of it's also, no doubt, the derivative/uninspired design of the Iron mons (and Flutter-adjacent set too)Finding a trainer that both has an evocative story with Iron Moth that simultaneously also couldn't have that story, but better, with Volcarona is not easy.
>>59271298That's indeed an excellent point.Without thinking much about it, the first thing that comes to mind would be a super nerd fan of robots, but even such person would probably end up with a Golurk or some Steel Type before ever getting to meet a paradox.
>>59271451>Without thinking much about it, the first thing that comes to mind would be a super nerd fan of robots, but even such person would probably end up with a Golurk or some Steel Type before ever getting to meet a paradox.Really though. Fan of robots? Klingklang, Rotom. The roster already has plenty to satisfy that, and explaining how they met a Paradox mon simply won't ever be easy.I guess, from my perspective, in a vacuum outside of the "Playing the game" vacuum it's cool to see which 'Mons trickle up to the top.The list of "Pokemon I want on my battle team" appears to be VERY different from "Pokemon I would want to be best buds with if I had the chance." It's just cool seeing how that difference plays out, in these threads.
>>59271490Exactly.That's probably also true. This is a little bit of a tangent, but I remember being very disappointed when I saw that every team in the top 8 of the World Championship 2015 (except maybe 1) had a Landorus and a Tapu Koko... In the very next year of Se Jun Park's victory with a Pachirisu in his team. Anyways, I like this franchise because of the sense of wonder and adventure, and the bonds between trainer and Pokémon, so it makes me happy that most OCs aren't concerned with BSTs and whatnot.
>>59271803>so it makes me happy that most OCs aren't concerned with BSTs and whatnot.100%. Even then, it's fun to see when an OC does end up caring about that stuff because it's part of their character to be a tryhard championship-focused trainer.

>>59270391>According to the anime, it is.Was it ever acknowledged after the first season? It doesn't appear in any other spot besides eggs.Charcadet has kind of the opposite problem, Charcadet is very common, so I don't know in what way I would narrow down his encounter with Charcadet.

>>59275960>I think they also had a land builder game where a dude survived with a girl, and people literally box the girl so she doesn't follow the player while they are playing Minecraft.Yeah that was another game by the developers of Koikatsu, they kinda filed for bankruptcy and closed, but after a few months we found out they rebranded (from Illusion to Ill games). People assume they just wanted to get rid of some "problematic" games they did in the past, but still. The community would have moved to these newer games, but they use a new compiling method that doesn't allow the heavy modifications of the older games. So the community is kind of stuck in the old games until the modding tools become better, or the modders basically punch the wall hard enough to get a breakthrough.

>>59281034>Awkward time?Nope, just regular /tog/.>Floating around for ideasSure thing, man. Lay it on us, what's the campaign about? We can help.
After finding this map I got motivated to do more stuff (still got kind of lazy when I got to Serperior because it's always annoying to pose him)besides that, Im just going to reaffirm my position, if people are interested in these threads, I will keep making them, no need to be defensive or be against them>>59281034>Lmao. Awkward time?It comes and goes, depends on the mood or how the troll feels at that moment.I am interested in your sprite, what is exactly that Pokémon? Some mutated version of another mon? a fakemon? Or an entirely different thing like Ultrabeasts? The lines remind me of the FNAF puppet and the cloak makes me think it's like a different evolution of shuppet, since its eyes have a similar tone of green.>>59281034
>>59281065>Sure thing, man. Lay it on us, what's the campaign about?Genuinely? No damn clue. The idea was pitched for me to run something like this pretty recently, and I fortunately still have a while before anything starts.Obviously, I need some Pokemon. Already working out the Starters and Legendaries mostly, other ideas would be great.I have a vague sense of something to do with the "spiritual" side of things that Gen 1 (and vaguely Gen 2) had. Things hinted at in Lavender Town's Tower, that were later dropped (no doubt for child-friendly appeal.) No idea though, if you have an awesome idea I'm all game.>>59281069>I am interested in your sprite, what is exactly that Pokémon? The region's Pseudo-Legendary. Reaper-themed. I'm thinking of using it as the villain/rival's ace or something along those lines. Wanted something edgy for the role.
>>59281069Looks amazing honestly.
Its earlier evos, too, since you asked.
>>59281082>Hopelessness>Ice/PoisonYou could make it about an expedition in frozen lands! It would be a nice place to add some extint Hisuan Pokémon. Also, if he appears at the end, you can make it about finding something evil in the frozen tundra.Like "The Thing", except less body horror and twice the flamethrowers (Fire types).
>>59281101>Like "The Thing"That sparked a lot of ideas. I had a vague image of the dual "Main Legendaries" as Ghost-types, and perhaps the adventure starts with the players accidentally unearthing/releasing the ancient evils?A colder, more harsh Region might be pretty kino too.
>>59281098Cute
>>59281034This place isn't apocalyptic, it's post-apocalyptic. But our settlement is mostly comfortable.>>59281125That's basically what it is, yeah. Nobody who's actually affiliated with the thread hates AI. We have no reason to treat the haters as significant in any way, or even as more than a single individual.
>>59281169>This place isn't apocalyptic, it's post-apocalyptic. But our settlement is mostly comfortable.A wasteland-style / harsh environment region might honestly be an interesting route. Could pose a lot of non-Battle challenges that comfy zones wouldn't.
>>59281236Isn’t that literally just the Orre region?
>>59281293>Isn’t that literally just the Orre region?Orre, but cool. (Temperature wise.)Could be inspiration.
>>59281300So like, a nuclear winter that you wished for because of patrolling the Mojave?
>>59281293If Orre is Fallout, then a cold region can exist as well. What was this game called? Frostzone? It was about dudes trying to survive in the cold while raiding the last remaining places on Earth. Also, Whiteout Survival totally rip them off.
>>59281337>So like, a nuclear winter that you wished for because of patrolling the Mojave?Gen 3, but with Hail and Sand instead of Sun and Rain? I do love me some derivative pulp trash!
>>59281337I feel larger claws would be better. When I see Pokémon using tools, it makes me feel like a bit out of the setting.I know, is weird (considering gen 8 with the starters and legendaries), but that's what I feel.
>>59281169>everyone I don't like is one person>only one person in the entire world thinks ai garbage is bad
>>59281107From what you are imagining, I can see the group of players being a expedition in the Antartic equivalent, and they accidentally come across the evil team waking up the 2 legendaries, shenanigans happens, they either capture or the legendaries escape, and the group has to deal with them in some way.The one thing Im not sure is what could be the theme of the region, SV was past and future, Sword and shield is that, Sun and moon is that, X and Y were Life and death, Black and white was truth and ideals, etc.Maybe you can make an argument on them being memories? Or how you honor the death if you are keeping the ghost typing on both of them?
>>59282023>The one thing Im not sure is what could be the theme of the region, SV was past and future, Sword and shield is that, Sun and moon is that, X and Y were Life and death, Black and white was truth and ideals, etc.>Maybe you can make an argument on them being memories? Or how you honor the death if you are keeping the ghost typing on both of them?Yeah, a theme like "Memory" or "Honor" or something could work. Maybe the two Legendaries that get unleashed aren't "evils" per se, but just locked in an unresolvable battle. Ghost-avatars of lost civilizations or something.
>>59282039It could be something like "Progress" vs "Respect".You can have a "man-made" legendary that is like the guardian of the expedition group, and on the other side you have the horrific ghosts fighting the intruders of their dwelling.Basically the protector is malfunctioning, so anything alive = threat, and our team must either run or counter it, while ghosts and curses are attacking them left and right. If they solve the puzzle, the ghost stop attacking. They may be even recruited for defense. But if they fail..... let's just say snow isn't the only thing white in the frozen tundra.
>>59282059>You can have a "man-made" legendary that is like the guardian of the expedition group, and on the other side you have the horrific ghosts fighting the intruders of their dwelling. That's pretty great. The plan was Ice/Ghost and Electric/Ghost, I can easily make the Electric one some kind of ancient Mewtwo-like artificial mon.Heroache could be some kind of guardian line? Maybe with another new Ghost type. (Perhaps failed prototypes of the Electric legend?) Who knows.
>>59281034One thing I'll warn you about before you begin is to not give your players alot of pokemon. Start them with 1, add new ones very slowly and evenly. If you give them too many battles will take ages and they'll never lose. Make up a reason for why they can't field more than 1 pokemon at a time. Anyone who's played in a group with a necromancer doing the skeleton army build knows why. Also do group initiative so everyone decides their actions together. Much faster.
>>59282173Trust, I've run many tabletop games before. Solid advice though.
Well, last 10.Any picks for the OP? How about questions?
>>59282406>Any picks for the OP?Rocket Golurk.>>59271451Because he's cool.>How about questions?Considering two anons came in with new regions? "What's your OC's favorite region to visit?" or something?
>>59282417>what's the best representation for this thread?>an image that wasn't made by anyone in this thread! You graduated top of your class in Calcutta, didn't you?

If I drew a mustache on Rocket Golurk, would it be acceptable as an OP image?

>>59282498Retard can't understand that anything drawn by a toddler is infinitely preferable to anything cobbled together by a computer while you pull a roulette arm. It's not your creation, it's not your idea, it's not your vision. You want all the prestige of being an artist without putting any work into being an artist. You are a fraud and any idea you luck your way into will be lesser because you had to have a machine do it for you.
>>59282552Nigga, do we call ourselves artists just because we told the PC "do this?"We said it all the time: is only something we use for fun. Sorry your Patreon died because someone else managed to recreate your style and cash on it before you could.

>>59282571>Retard needs to elevate subhuman scribbling garbage because he can't understand that the result matters more than the process. The simple distinction is that AI demands no excellence. Humans care about human greatness. AI will always be a novelty, as it holds no depth and requires struggle."For fun" is whatever. People smoke dicks for fun, if that's your thing then you do you I guess.
>>59282562>>59282571I don't care what you call yourself, fraud. Keep sperging out every time you're told that the bare minimum of participating in a creative thread should be the ability to create something with your own hands. If you worship your computer so much, stop reposting this hand drawn art you have such a low opinion of and just make AI fanart instead.

We've reached Twitter champagne socialist levels of pretending to not understand things, which is weirdly befitting given the average political orientation of the average anti-AI fag. We ought to start calling this kind of neuroticism something like "AI Derangement Syndrome". Hey, wait a minute...>>59282577AI doesn't demand excellence and neither does a toddler's crayon gibberish (or really anything created by someone just beginning to make artwork), and that's okay. Not everything needs to "demand excellence" o algo and pretending otherwise is pure pretentious retarded douchebaggery. Is there even any benefit from banning AI posting beyond forcing that truculent wastrel to complain about another thing instead? Probably not. Ignore it and don’t interact with it if you don’t like it, it’s harmless.>>59282579>"keep sperging out", he says while sperging outIs it that difficult for you to not act like a baboon that got its ass smacked whenever you see an AI post here?>with your own handsHey retard, there's something called "prompt engineering" and "typing out the prompt" that's necessary to get an AI to work. And just that's for models that aren't locally hosted or trained.>>59282587My comment was never intended to implicate anything posted here, it was intended to rebut the aggressing ape's that thinks its fecal matter somehow has more value than some anime girl Bing spat out. And trust me, there's stuff in there that I think ranges from mediocre to terrible, but I have the tact to not talk about it because at least those people wanted to actually contribute to the thread, and ignoring things I don't like is easy (but still too hard for some people apparently). There's also a lot of things in there that I do like, so what's your sad excuse for a point?>>59282606I apologize, that comment was not meant for you.
