i didn't really want new megas and now that i have got new megas I don't feel any differentat best I feel indifferent even with a design and mon I really like, at worst it's an outright dogshit insult like Mega Excadrill

So many of this batch was Flanderized. They took design cues from Gmax (exaggerate one thing) more than old Megas. Also, they relied too heavily on gradients for this new batch, it’s weird…even just that first row you have Raichu X, Clefable, Victreebel…I feel like this batch had decently high highs, but abysmal lows.
Megas were a Mistake

Froslass is perfect. It doubles down on the yukionna origin. The demon horns are more pronounced. The long dress and haircut make it look like Froslass has aged up since 20 years ago. On top of that, she's incredible in PvP. Mega Chandelure being more decorative makes the original look unfinished in hindsight. Golurk having its seal unleashed was unexpected. It works perfectly as a temporary Mega transformation, and it completes the lore. Dragonite having Dratini and Dragonair features makes it feel like the true final form, especially when shiny. KING Chesnaught speaks for itself. Most of these look like an older or more complete versions of the original. They're very good.The only one I don't care for is the sushi Pokemon.

Mega Lucario Z and Zerarora look like garbage. The rest I am neutral to, as in I don't care for them enough to like or dislike them.Mega Raichu did not deserve two megas. I would've rather had Mega Mewtwo Z or Charizard Z.
