So, as many people have heard, Nintendo and its partners are cutting down on leaks. There are various ways of doing this but a very common one is by spreading misinformation to suspected sources. It could be different release dates, it could be info drops, or anything. The idea is to see what information appears online and can be traced back to a certain person. This could explain why there is potentially conflicting information being distributed.
That being said, there is one thing that I think should be clarified.
The Seed Pokémon.
There seems to be many people thinking "Seed" means grass or sprout or baby, thats not necessarily what it means. In procedural generation a "Seed" is the base for building. A PG algorithm needs that seed to generate. In the case of No Mans Sky, it generates a world, the seed is like the key from which everything grows. Now, if it hasnt been cut, the seed may gather its data from different choices you make in the game, determined on the algorithm. These choices may be intentional (starter pokemon) or unintentional (first pokemon you knock out). If the seed uses hexadecimal for its code then it would be easy for them to use typing as the keys (maybe combine rock and ground and ghost and dark to make 16 types) Hexadecimal being base 16 there would probably be 16 key events to build the full seed code. Now after the 16 key events something could trigger the Pokémon to evolve. When there are 1616 potential outcomes, the chances of anyone ending up with the same seed Pokémon would be astronomical. Think about it like this:
E1×E2×E3×E4×E4×E5×E6×E7×E7×E8×E9×E10×E11×E12×E13×E14×E15×E16= SEED
Each event fills in the seed with a value. Each event corresponds to a trait for the seed pokemon. E1 could be Type1 E2 could be Type2 E3E4 could determine ability, E5E6 determines moves etc. The rest could determine esthetics. It could be an egg that hatches once the code is completed.
