If they ever do anything the most likely scenario is a joint gimmick that all three forms get like the apples in Gen 8 which shared a G-Max with a signature move that changes type depending on what the base design is like Oricorio

They're likely at the very least in WW's DLC given that they've only been in Z-A so far post-dexit, same with Furforu and Patrat.

they should all get a delinquent evo that indulges in their vice (simisear getting some benefit from sound moves, like a lightningrod clone, simipour getting some extra benefit from seeing things, maybe Analytic, and simisage getting a boost to sound moves, maybe, like Punk Rock specifically could work) and then they have a DIFFERENT evo with a diff typing that does the opposite: simisear could get soundproof, simipour could have some way of ignoring enemies (like one of the myriad abilities that make you immune to intimidate among other boons. clear body would work imo.) and simisage could have some ability that makes it unable to use sound moves or something but gains some other benefit, kind of hard to figure this one out but you know. They could have the former ones be punk-themed (maybe all with a Dark typing, but not necessary, maybe give each a Ghost, Dark, Poison type, not sure which) and the latter could be more zen or monk-ish (psychic, fairy, fighting - all could work. again, not sure which.)people would be furious that "6 more slots were wasted on them" (lol) but that would be what I'd do. I think it would be fun

Eviolite meant we were never getting cross-gen evos again that weren't split evos, until gen 8. NFE mons couldn't mega evolve, until eternal flower floette. Mons couldn't entirely change typing by evolving, see they fixes marill, until alolan marowak. Legendaries can't evolve - until type: null could, and then poipole, yeah well mythicals can't, and then melmetal did, there will never be a regional form for a mon who can mega well until slowbro and slowking were on the scene, etc etc.

It's been over a decade since a new eeveelution and new megas before z-a, we didn't have cross gen evos other than eevee for 2 whole gens, we didn't have a baby mon between gens 4 and 8, we only had new types in gen 2 and 6, there's absolutely no reason to think gamefreak has any inhibitions about doing something due to time: if anything, they seem to LOVE doing something novel or bringing something back way, way after anyone thought they would. I mean, annihilape came by in gen 9 after not a morsel was given to primeape since gen 1, as an example. Why would they be opposed to updating the elemental monkeys after an even shorter period of time?
