I mean ,the plot of Pokemon 2023 would have worked fine with Ash being the protagonist especially if the story needed a protagonist that can DEFEAT & CATCH A FREAKING RAYQUAZA instead to shoving a newbie with level 05 Fuecoco and insist he became stronger the entire weather trio by doing "Hoge Hoge Hoge".
