Mega Salamence usually run mixed sets. Double-edge, Hyper Voice, TW, Protect was the standard. It will not only not care about getting burned, it will ignore Rage Powder while doing so.

It still cares since it makes Double-Edge weaker and forces it to use Hyper Voice. You also take burn damage, which with VGC having specific EVs to tank certain hits, means you no longer tank those hits.
