Where are the Pokemon Stadium 2 hacks? Mario 64 has like a thousand, so you can imagine how cool it would be to have an on-going project of Stadium with updates adding more 'mons, trainers and overall content. The game is so soulful and I think at this point there won't be a battling sim as pleasant, so I hope someone gets to it.
>>59241974Mario 64 has a complete decompilation project. Stadium 2 lacks even semi-decent binary tools. This is very retarded comparison.
>>59242007Can't we decompile it ourselves?
>>59242012Can you?It will be at least few years of work, potentially more. If you want it to be done, it will be easier if you start learning skills needed for it instead of begging on 4chan.
>>59241974why hack stadium?you have the other battle simulators, mainline is still easier to hackyou only need to use one of those base roms, so no need to code any newer pokemon or mechanics
>>59242030Stadium has the announcer and potential for battle animations while the mainline games don't bring you that much satisfaction from battling (well other than Colosseum/XD/PBR)
>>59241974at this point you'd probably have an easier time making a new one from the ground up using modern tools and just redoing the stadium animations than trying to reverse engineer the 64 one. It'd make it much easier to add new content if anyone can just use blender to put together new models and animations. Despite what gamefreak wants you to think, it wouldn't actualy be too hard to make a battle sim so long as you hide it from the nintendo ninjas until it's complete enough to release and let modders handle the rest.
>>59241974There isn't a Mario game that has controls and movement quite like 64, meanwhile there's all of the mainline Pokemon games with similar battle systems, including gen II which has mostly the same mechanics as Stadium 2. This means there's not much incentive to hack Stadium 2, meaning there's little modding support for it. Your image seems like it's just texture and text modding, which is significantly easier than custom models and animations. Someone could try adding those, but they'd be on their own with no help and no tools.
Why would we do with Stadium hacks that aren't just Kaizo level fights which would get boring immediately? A de-compilation would be nice if only to make save imports not a glitchly turd.
>>59241974it's a soulful game but there's not really that much to it, if you wanted to hack Pokemon there's just a lot more incentive to hack mainline games which have more content, can make a full adventure, and have tons of tools and documentation.
>>59241974I want a Pokemon Snap romhack with new areas and all the mons from Stadium 2
>>59241974I tried ultimate stadium but for whatever reason it isn't working on my flashcart
I had the realization yesterday that a hack that>mods SWSH>makes everyone into OOT-level N64 sharp models>does similar with Pokémon, maybe just that reducing polygons method>leaves all world textures untouched for that authentic N64 feelcould have been a hilarious /vp/ project to mock the game back at release. Damn hindsight.
