I missed out on playing this when it was still new and decided to finally give it a try. I'm actually enjoying it quite much, even if Gen IV isn't a personal favorite of mine. One thing I find unfortunate is all online features being rendered inert, but I'm still enjoying it all the same at least.

Pokeathelon is probably the most underrated side mode and I wish it had a ribbon>>59249858Crystal is definitely the definitive Johto experience imo, gen 2 is just incredibly comfy and fun. HGSS are great games by they don't really "replace" gen 2 the way FRLG "replaced" gen 1. The only real "problem" with Crystal is that you can't catch ampharos but if you're playing on virtual console there's a ton of fun stuff to do like odd egg cloning and shiny celebi hunting

Coincidentally, 2007 was the year when we got an ADSL connection so I basically traded POkemon for p0rn at age 12. Got to play the Johto remakes years later on my Galaxy S3, good times.
