>he wants the Sound-typeWhy? What possible benefit would their be to adding a nineteenth type, when the eighteenth was so hated? Do you think Sound will magically balance the poorly optimized existing types? Is this a boasting thing? I want an explanation.
>>59252750Sound type is a bad meme that started ages ago. Just ignore the sound shitters and keep enjoying life.
if there's gonna be a new type it should be Fish.It would split up the Water type nicely, making type distribution a bit more even, and address a few oddities, such as fish pokemon resisting fire.
>>59252761Under similar logic, rectify a 20 year old mistake and re-split off Bird type.
>>59252750>when the eighteenth was so hatedNon issue
>>59252815unfortunately that'd leave way too few pokemon remaining in Flying type. Shit like Aerodactyl and Minior
>>59252750It isn't about game balance. It's about theme.
>>59252750thoughts on a slime/rubber type? rubber could be a good canidate for a normal weakness, as to overpower elasticity, you'd need plain force. make that the only weakness it has (and cut very high power normal moves from most other types)
>>59252750Because the sound pokemon dont feel like normal types. Not really
>>59252750>Why?New types are fun and shake up the metagame.
Plasma type
>>59252815Bird is actually in the games, it gets referenced in frlg lol
>>59253535So another fire type then?
>>59252891I don't think they should ever make a type that is weak to normal. Normal not being super effective against anything is its identity as a type
>>59252965stop pretending you play PvP
>>59252750Sounds boringGive me something like cyber type.
>>59253660then normal shouldn't have weaknesses either
New types are fun, always will be
Psychic/Cosmic/Mystic split when?
>>59252750If people cared about type balancing then they would be clamoring for something like Salt type which would be super effective against Fairy, Steel, Ghost, & Dark and would indirectly nerf some Water types by turning them into salt water pokemon
>>59252815>>59252859The biggest argument I think would be retheming Flying to an Air type
>>59252750Sound as its own type will never make sense because you can't have physical Sound moves. It's not the same as something like Aqua Tail, which is a physical attack that just uses elemental energy. "Ice Punch" makes a lot more sense than "Sound Punch". I remember that italian fangame from a few years ago that added the Sound type and changed Extreme Speed to being a Sound move. It was and still is really retarded.
>>59254782There's more physical Psychic moves than Fairy moves, and Psychic is the least physical type there is. Seems like you're just being uncreative, a sort of "Vibration Punch" would absolutely fit Sound as a type and have relevance to actual things both in real life and in fiction. The real reason we're not getting Sound type is because sound is already a category of move that interacts with existing systems already. Turning Soundproof into Levitate isn't a great idea for balance reasons.
>>59252750There are not enough mons to justify a sound type.Sound stays normal.
>>59254907Pretty much this. Whenever I see people try and justify sound type they bring up the same dozen or so mons every single time, and at over 1000 of the things I think we would need more than that to justify it. When we got dark and steel, we had a decent amount of them added, with even Magnemite and Mangneton changed to steel, and with fairy having a lot of additions in Gen 6 with at least one line in every previous Gen retconned to fairy. On top of that, most sound moves are special, so normal would be losing out on a number of good special moves, so we would need to replace those as well as make physical moves for sound. It's just not worth it.
>>59254907The Exploud line, the Wigglytuff line, the Noivern line, Chatot and Meloetta, Kricketune, not to mention the dozen or more Sound-types Game Freak would undoubtedly add in WiWa. This is just as functional as the Fairy transition.
>>59252750Fairy is hated because it's extremely poorly definied and was specifically tailored to rebalance the meta. This just made it a really strong type slapped on gay pokemon instead of cool ones. Sound would have a more thematic type matchup and a much stronger identity since you can't really get any more clear than sound. Plus it lets you play around with design space of sound based pokemon which normally wouldn't really fit being a normal type.
>>59255286There's alot more options if they wanted more>Chimecho line>boombox rotom>Bronzong line>Mr Mime line>zubat line>Misdreavus line>wailmer line>Altaria line>Maractus>Rillaboom line
Soundshitters are ALMOST as bad as Faggot-Faries. ALMOST.
Pacifist Typeresists and resisted by every type, averages very high defenses and very low offenses
I don't think Sound type would work really well when it comes to retyping mons, Mostly because of Toxtricity? He's a super explicitly music themed mon but his name is fucking Toxtricity, he's john Poison/Electric.But honestly I don't like the trend of treating Normal as a sound type. Making sound themed mons normal type just to give them sound move stab, even if there's nothing Normal about them, at that point you might as well have a sound type when you're using normal as a stand in for an unrelated concept.
>>59252750I think ill just drop pokemon games altogether if they add another type. Not that it makes it any more complex or anything but the only reason they would add a new type was to use designs that wouldnt fit any other type, and I just dont see any new typing being able to carry the effort with regards to designing iconic and memorable pokemon. Fairy type needed already made pokemon to latch on to- all the new fairy pokemon look like fucking garbage. And yes, Fairy sort of stole any new typings thunder by virtue of it being so fucking overpowered because all the shitters cried about Dragons, even if they were to make a new type it would be Bug or Ice tier.
>>59255341>PacifistPokemon are made belligerent.
>>59255325>mime Pokémon>sound type
