The overwhelming majority of Tera was used to power up already powerful strong STAB moves to nuclear levels or flipping your defensive profile to survive hits. The most interesting part of Tera was that it was dynamic meaning any Pokémon could Tera at anytime and that unlike braindead win buttons like m*gas and d*namax there were potential downsides to teraing since every type has strengths and weaknesses.
