This isn't true, stitched binders appear like this happens when you lay them down but if the pages are all loaded and the binders stored correctly, which is to say standing up, there will not be a bend. When the pages are standing upright, they do not sit in the same fashion as they do when they're laying down, but people believe they do because they have to be laying down to be looked at.

Which is similar to ring binders, if you store those standing up they'll be fine pretty much as well, as long as they're not super crap quality in terms of what the rings are shaped like.
