Much more content, better map layout, amazing dex, better difficulty.
And the important part, it fixed BW horrendous writing
Just a simple good vs evil plot with actual stakes, instead of a pretentious "moral dilemma" that the game ruins 30 minutes in.
On top of that, BW ends with "Having Pokémon is ok because they like it! Ghetsis was just a retarded evil guy!" while BW2 ends with N desiring a world where people and pokemon can understand each other without Pokeballs, an open theme that the series just decided to ignore, it doesn't disprove N's dream, also considering how pokeballs work with shrinking and all that, i'd say N is right.
BW1 nearly killed the series, BW2 was the highest point reached.
>>
still takes place in a really shit region and has hideous sprites, but it did fix just about everything it reasonably could have. it's an alright game
>>
>>59262111
>bw2 rival just straight up socks a plasma grunt
What a chad, so much cooler than the two useless fags in BW1
>>
>>59262111
Best game in the franchise
>>
>>59262125
is HGSS
>>
>>59262111
>still linear
>still piss easy
>still ugly
>still has bare bones post game
>story is even worse
Not really.
>>
>>59262133
>level curve
>pokemon distribution
>evolution stones locked behind humiliation rituals like pokeathlon
>regions that are scatvommit tier empty and barren
lol no
>>
>>59262134
>>story is even worse
did you read the op?
>>
>>59262138
>kino level curve that makes levels actually matter and makes major bosses such as lance and red feel like a big deal
>kino distribution that makes you actually seek out new party members
>kino and fun minigames that make you interact with your pokemon in ways beyond battling
>two kino regions that truly capture the grounded feel of classic pokemon
it appears HGSS's superiority has led to some controversy yet again
>>
>>59262141
No TLDR?

Flops are never the best games
>>
>>59262896
Yet they are?
>>
>>59262896
no mainline pokemon game has ever flopped
>>
>>59262134

They all are

Significantly harder if you play the game as intended
>>still ugly
Never was ugly
>>still has bare bones post game
Nope, one of the most expansive
>>story is even worse
Depends
>>
>>59263795
>Significantly harder if you play the game as intended
imagine admitting to being this bad at pokemon
>>
>>59263795
I hacked in a LV 100 Arceus and the games were too easy.
Now I want my money back but the Gamestop employee says no.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!
>>
>>59262111
>BW2
Didn't these games only make one sale worldwide, which was actually from some guy shoplifting the cardridge?
>>
>>59262111
>And the important part, it fixed BW horrendous writing
what a fucking piece of shit take.

>>59262133
I feel like hgss sometimes get's too much of praise, it is good, but it has its issues, that are deeply rooted in gen 2.
>lugia is now mandatory
cool, but going through the fucking whirpool caves, when ho-oh is just "please jump" was fucking dumb.
>>
>>59263860
>>lugia is now mandatory
>cool, but going through the fucking whirpool caves, when ho-oh is just "please jump" was fucking dumb.
holy shit, a criticism I actually agree with.
>>
>>59263860
>>And the important part, it fixed BW horrendous writing
>what a fucking piece of shit take
Elaborate?
>>
>>59262144
>2026
>people still thinking that bad level curve = good because it "makes the games harder"
All it does is either make the already boring grinding even longer or incentivize you to finish building your team as early as possible since the wild pokemon at the late game areas are such low level that it would take ages to level them up.
>>
>>59263863
Did you never see valid criticism of hgss? There are still other points I don‘t like about it, but it doesn‘t change the fact that they are pretty good games.
>>59263872
>Elaborate?
Bw
>coming of age story, with 3 characters finding their way in life plus a very good pacing, compared to previous games. Nice twists where the league with the champ is ACTUALLY the ending.
BW2
>same story as gen3 and gen4
>pacing is again: 1-3 gyms slow, 4-6 very fast, 7, legendary, 8, league.
>>
>>59262111
How did BW ruin its story 30 minutes in? If you're crying about that grunt kicking the Munna, it's your fault for needing media to turn to the screen every five minutes to directly tell you in simple English "this is the bad guy", "this is the good guy", etc
>>
>>59263926
>he doesn't know about trainer rematches
grinding is really easy in hgss lol
>>
BW1 is fine.
BW2 is just bonus stuff.
Neither of them is bad.
>>
The problem with b2w2 is that hilda is not in it
>>
>>59262111
>how pokeballs work with shrinking
thought you'd just slip that in, huh? motherfucker?
pokemon DO NOT SHRINK
>>
>locks seismitoad to post game
nah it's shit
>>
>>59262111
When replaying gen 5, is it better to play Black edition for the true storyline with N and Team Plasma, including the castle, or is it better to play Black 2 because more content, better post game overall, you can actually get a Zoroark without hacking one in and more post game legendaries, but a basic Pokémon story?
>>
>>59265310
Story aside BW2 is superior in every way. But BW2 story is still good
>>
And route 10 ost
>>
>>59265271
b2w2 locks a shitton of gen 5 mons to postgame, as well as the entire daycare and fishing mechanics
>>
>>59265260

And route 10 ost
>>
>>59265310
play both
>>
>>59265405
I already played and beat both, but I now wanna re-explore gen 5 and don't know which to pick.
>>
>>59265414
I always prefer bw. It feels faster and is more fun. Also using only gen5 pokemon gives you a lot of variety in your team building. So if you want to go for that, do bw. If you want to explore more and get non unova mons, play bw2.

Ideally play bw and then play bw2
>>
>>59263936
All correct but Ghetsis and the grunts are too cartoonishly evil, and the game doesn't explain why people should listen to N, you can think about divine right but at this point i think it's just an headcanon
>>59263959
It's my fault the game is scared of subtlety?
>>
>>59265357
patrician taste in womyn and music
>>
>>59265357
It plays in one house in BW2, i don't remember which tho
>>
>>59262111
I liked the first games more.
>>
>>59262111
BW doesn't need to be saved. BW2 expands it well, but BW was already a solid game in the first place.
Personally, the fact it adds other region mons in Unova also kinda ruins the freshness of the region.
>>
>>59263936
>coming of age story, with 3 characters finding their way in life plus a very good pacing, compared to previous games. Nice twists where the league with the champ is ACTUALLY the ending.
lmao
>>
>>59262111
I agree that BW’s story is laughably pretentious but it didn’t need saving. The rest of the game is fine
>>
>>59262111
Black and White 2 ruined romhacks for me
For at least 10 years I couldn't enjoy any because GF put out the ultimate Black and White romhack themselves. It's just a better game while also being a love letter to the 4 generations before it at the same time. Pokemon could have ended here and I would be okay with it.
>>
Please stop falling for this man's bait.
>>
>>59268129
What bait?
>>
>>59262115
This
>>
>>59263926
>grinding
If you needed to grind, youre one of those that thinks the problem to every situation where you arent 1shotting with your STAB move is the exp curve rather than your skill level.
>>
>>59265438
>using less pokemon gives you more variety
??????
