Gen 4 had the strongest games but weaker designs.Gen 6 had weaker games but stronger designs.Gen 5 lies perfectly in between them, though gen 5 has trhe most shit designs, they alws have aawesome and edgy ones like Zoroark, Emboar, Bisharp, Gigalith and Hydreigon.

Megas aren’t their own Dex entry and weren’t included in the celebration of 1K Pokèmon nor options for Pokèmon of the Year poll so they’re clearly not on the same level as permanent evolutions. If you wanted to dunk on Sinnoh use the actual Pokédex which is eclipsed by XY’s by over 200.
