Look at Exeggutor's learnset and tell me that Arceus cares about this thing. Do you think gamefreak knew how fucky they were making gen 1 learnsets?>What is (You)r favorite fucked up gen 1 learnset? >What objectively bad 'mons did you take through genwun as an idiotic babby child?
>>59269479Zorua/Zoroark is a special attacker who gets his first (and only) special attack at LV 46.
what the fuck is that unlisted 1% gonna do on the first onealso who the fuck would pick anything other than the gun
>>59269492>what the fuck is that unlisted 1% gonna do on the first oneCrash the game because genwun is BUGGY!!!>also who the fuck would pick anything other than the gunArceus didn't think about that when creating these. He just whipped up some bullshit even if it makes zero sense.
>>59269479you're supposed to use TMs
>>59269492>also who the fuck would pick anything other than the gunthe gun is Psychic. of course you choose it, if you can spare the TM.
>>59269479Gen 1 is cheating, all stone evos except the Eevees had similar learnsets. It's to encourage you to wait to evolve it. This is why Surge's Raichu can be beaten by literally any Ground-type in Red/Blue.
>>59269479It was just a fun little game for kids.
>>59270252>It's to encourage you to wait to evolve it.How am I supposed to know?
>>59269479>Do you think gamefreak knew how fucky they were making gen 1 learnsets?Yes. Because on average the idea was that stab moves came from TM's, not native movesets.>>59270771They literally tell you in game.Mind you, in the case of Exeggutor it's not worth it. Everything good comes from TM's anyway.
>>59270779>They literally tell you in game.In an incredibly vague way, on Cinnabar Island at which point you've probably already evolved your Pikachu or Growlithe or whatever. For most pokemon where staying unevolved lets you get strong moves slightly earlier there's at least a little bit of tension but stone evos just end up as TM sponges unless you cart around an unevolved pokemon to level forty or whenever they learn a decent attack. The idea was reasonable but the implementation is bad.
>>59270999>In an incredibly vague waycan confirm, in my school the lesson we all spread was that if you evolved a stone evo earlier its literal stats were betterwe thought that you have two growlithes, you evolve both with stones, one at lv10 (and just gave it a bunch of TMs) and one at lv 50 after it learned Flamethrower, the Arcanine that evolved at lv10 would have more stats because it has been levelling up *As an arcanine* for longerwe also thought that all of the vitamins that boost stats worked the same - increase the stats at low lv and get more stat GROWTH over timethe idea that you "retroactively" got better stats from evolving seemed ass-backwards to all of my friends
>>59270999>The idea was reasonable but the implementation is bad.Main issue I have is that the game doesn't tell you what moves you learn when period.
