We already have a few pseudo types like: sound moves, wind moves, bomb moves etc.

I always wanted to see the concept of acidity represented too. Some Pokemon could have an ability that would make them acidic or alkaline what would make them interact with specific moves.

Obviously, it would make acidic Pokemon able to hit steel types better, and alkaline could hit Poison better.

This is... So extremely specific... But I'm interested to see where this goes.
>>
>>59272216
It's also laughably irrelevant, given acid and similar properties are folded into the greater poison ethos.

>The bubbles it spews out are strongly alkaline. Any opponents hit by them will have their bodies quickly melted away.

BEHOLD, the canonical alkaline Pokemon
>>
>>59272260
Execept Poison doesn't do damage to steel types so it misses the entire point of acids?
It would also be just fun to incorporate this basic duality concept.

>corrosion
NEXT!
>>
>>59272195
Shouldn't acidic's taste be sour?
>>
>>59272195
Based.
>>
>>59272472
That ability doesn't allow you to damage a steel type with poison attacks like acid.
>>
>>59273182
Right. I my language acidic and sour is the same word.
>>
abilities

Corrosion:
can damage steel types with poison moves
powers up acidic moves

Caustic:
can damage poison, grass and electric types ignoring any of their immunities
powers up basic moves

When Pokemon with both abilites are on the field, all types effectiveness are set to x1

What's next? Sweet and salty?

>ash

what generation is the tooth Pokemon from?
>>

It's lore is being hunted by acidic Appletun.

>Every Pokémon is randomly generated either sweet or salty.
>New move "Vore" is introduced.
>Using "Vore" on a sweet Pokémon will cause it to instantly faint like Horn Drill AND fully restore the users HP.
>Using "Vore" on a salty Pokémon will cause the user to faint instead and not affect the target.

Acid wins

>Karrablast: When they feel threatened, they spit an acidic liquid to drive attackers away. This Pokémon targets Shelmet.
>Scrafty: Groups of them beat up anything that enters their territory. Each can spit acidic liquid from its mouth.
>It ate a sour apple, and that induced its evolution. In its cheeks, it stores an acid capable of causing chemical burns.
>Cradily: It ensnares prey with its eight tentacles. It then melts the prey with a strong acid before feeding.
>Victreebel: Acid that has dissolved many prey becomes sweeter, making it even more effective at attracting prey.
>Gulpin: Most of Gulpin's body is made up of its stomach - its heart and brain are very small in comparison. This Pokémon's stomach contains special enzymes that dissolve anything.
>Swalot: Its powerful stomach acid is capable of digesting almost anything. The one thing in the whole world a Swalot can't digest is its own stomach.
>Dwebble: This Pokémon can easily melt holes in hard rocks with a liquid secreted from its mouth.

Moves:
>Acid
>Acid Spray
>Acid Armor
>Apple Acid
>Corrosive Gas
>Malignant Chain

>it included the pokemon clover variant
yeah an ol' yikes for me
>>
>>59272195
I thought acid would be mostly poison types but there's surprisingly a lot of acidic grass types.
And alkaline nicely aligns with grounds type. It even is super effective on poison to show how it neutralize it.
>>
>>59272195
We need a flower Pokémon that changes color depending on the pH
>>
You know what yeah this is a good concept. Cool idea OP.
>>
>>59277104
Thanks
Any idea what to develop?
>>
>>59278335
yeah what the mechanisms themselves would be. I already see the "hitting steel se" with acid, but having more in-built characteristics like that might be nice.

I was thinking it just being two abilities that make some moves stronger and giving you advantage towards some types.
Plus adding some Pokemon more themed around it like the tooth Pokemon, flower changing color depending on pH, soap Pokemon etc.
>>
>>59278525
>soap Pokemon
japs would love that
