Charizard outspeeds, has higher Sp. Atk and has a mega form. Arcanine is objectively inferior in every way.

Starmie, on the other hand, is an objectively superior pokemon to Blastoise even in mega form because gamefreak fucking H*TES blastoise for no reason what so ever to the point where he cannonically gets bodied by charizard, the pokemon he's supposed to counter, regularly
