I skipped out on the intitial hype because of dexit. Played it last year and I felt like the dlc was more fun than the base game.
Pretty much every mainline Pokemon is between a 5 and a 7 out of 10. Generally compotent and enjoyable, but nothing exceptional or revolutionary. People here, though, like to act like every game they mildly dislike is a completely disfunctional piece of dogshit made by the devil himself to torture them specifically because this board is full of manchildren and probably actual children too.
I'm not sure if I can rate a modern Pokemon game positively because I temper my expectations so much everything seems like a pleasant surprise, but I'd say it's hard for them to be under 6/7 out of 10 as long as they can stick to the formula that's made the games work all these years

I don't know where you're coming from OP but even pirating this game long after SV's final DLCs came out to see if the problems were overblown and I was just too harsh at the time because of their dogshit PR to go into the game with a completely open mind was the right call and no fucking way, easily some of the worst games I've EVER played in my life. The way modern Pokemon games railroad you to be incapable of actually playing the game and needing to ride these shitty theme park attractions they call regions in supremely linear and structured design means these games are just not for me anymore. SwSh is worse than actually broken games because it was designed to be that way, it was designed to be as painfully linear and uninteresting as possible.The DLC did fix a little bit of my problem but after finishing that I didn't really want to keep playing since that was the closest thing to satisfaction I had wasting my time with this piece of shitinb4 play SV, opposite problem. Uninteresting open world slop + a story that genuinely does not interest me. Kanto still feels like the only region that did it right. I'm just done with new Pokemon games as a whole
