Shell Bell is really really powerful if you focus mostly on battles.
That took ENTIRELY too long. Like you basically need to luck into all the right items and tms in the right order, and the right trainers your Pokemon can sweep. That said, unlike Gen 1, in Gen 2 you can rearrange your Pokemon between Elite Four battles so at least there's that. I can't believe I stayed up an extra six hours beating this.

pretty neat but it feels like it's just gambling on whether you'll get favorable matchups and be able to actually do anything; any actual strategy around squad comp and pathing has too many variables to be able to control beyond a point, and that point is well within the range that will end your run quickly. This is a problem with this genre as a whole and once you notice it and have a three digit iq you won't feel like trying again. But, still, neat thing to throw together, and well-executed detail-wise and presentation-wise. A more substantial game with this level of polish would be great.
The Battle Tower is fun, too. You can only start a run with one Hall of Fame Pokémon. Also, each type has a passive ability. Normal gives you 25% more health, Fire +1 Attack, Flying 10% chance of dodging and Psychic does 10% damage to all Pokémon each round.

Also I dunno if the Ka to map didn't have rival battles (aside from the Champion) or I just got unlucky but you should have mandatory minibosses against stuff like the rival, Team Rocket, etc. Also would be nice if there was more than one item event, like mayve one that can give you a choice between sets of consumables (like Potions, Berries or Status Heals). Also kinda weird having no status ailments present as far as I'm aware.

Ditto is the secret sauce for One is Enough. I had two Venusaur wipes on Blue to his Pidgeot, and one Starmie wipe on his Exeggutor. My strat was start with Venu then after the fifth gym fish for trades.

Finally beat this weasel game. Tauros went nuts with a Silk Scarf. I think Struggle counts as Normal as well because it destroyed Agatha when Venusaur went down.

tried a few runs, I think the furthest I got was sabrina or koga. fun idea, but the fact that you're basically hoping to have the right type on the front for the next fight is really annoying, feels like there's very little skill involved.
