>>59280397Rotation happens every year around April. Cards have regulation marks, and G block cards just rotated out. Currently standard legal cards are H, I and J block cards. Next year H block cards will rotate out.If you really care about longevity, the answer would be to pick cards from the newer sets of course. If you just play base rarity, it's super cheap to build decks anyway so I wouldn't care too much about how long a deck lasts.

I currently have the pieces to build a few more decks (Lucario, Zoroark, Starmie/Dusknoir, the Cinccino deck mentioned earlier) but my deck boxes only hold 8 decks. If you are for some reason obsessed with Pult (don't be, we had a cup yesterday where someone won with slop) then you do you, but stop acting like you are forced to play it because usage means basically nothing except for popularity in Pokemon.

lopunny wins utrecht. the dundunsparce pult build is super slow so it got steam rolled. I don't know if this will mean more candies will show up in pult in the future because the hammers are still good at controlling the pace of the game.

If you look back the vast majority of meta stage2s are like that because they have good stage1s, instead of being just rare candy users. It's a bigger issue nowadays as item lock is a common effect because budew instead of a premium one, showing the major flaw of rare candy reliance. You can't even cope with TM evo like before as that's rotated tooLike cynthia's garchomp wouldn't ever be meta if not for the gabite engine. Alakazam wouldn't hit the same without kadabra also having a draw ability. Other stage2s in format are grass that can skip the evolution rules. It's quite clear how important a good stage1 is but they rarely print them, so even if a stage2 has potential it just doesn't make it

I genuinely don't get how both the first place Pult list and Tord (top 8) said they're choosing to go first with the deck. There has never been a situation where I felt advantaged going first with Pult, even opening Candy.
