Even then, that’s a spinofff with talking pokemon, so it isn’t perceived as much even by people who enjoyed it.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon is a very great entryway to the world of Roguelikes to learn the basics of positioning, rescource management and inventory management without the pressure of harder roguelikes like DCSS or Cogmind, while still being infinitely more difficult and challenging compared to the easy and boring mainline titles and actually reqiring thought and strategy.
