Why do people insist Water is the most overpowered type when it's clearly electric?

>100 percent accuracy overpowered status inflicting move

>90 dmg/100 accuracy STAB that can ALSO inflict your overpowered status effect

>SE vs water and flying, two of the most common strong pokemon typings in the game

>Literally ONE counter type
>>
It's hard countered by arguably the best offensive type in the game.

Also Water gets the best burn inflicting move in the game that's SE against the only type immune to burns. And the best freeze inflicting move that's SE against half of its counters because why not lol.

Easily countered by Ground and Grass types
no coverage
no physical moves
>>
>>59285328
>It's not supereffective so it doesn't matter
That's where your logic fails. 90% of electric types are so frail they can be one shot by neutral attacks
>>
>>59285328
It's just ice++
Amazing for coverage but most electric pokémon are kind shit for except for some overtuned few cases
>>
>>59285328
Electric's problem is its resistances. Ground is probably the other best "all arounder" type behind water and it's immune tons of Pokemon with water and flying typing gave a secondary type that makes them neutral to electric too. There's a reason the two best electric types ever (rotom-w and zapdos) are rated so highly and it has a LOT to do with the ground immunity. Water is just incredibly good on its own and has way more types that synergize with it. Rain is also the best weather etc etc

>most electric pokémon are kind shit
Game Freak's "tradition" of shitty physical Electric type moves and non-existent coverage and its consequences has been a disaster for non-privileged Electric type Pokemon.
>>
>>59285328
Thunder Wave got nerfed, and Paralysis has gotten nerfed every couple gens since 6.
Electric-types have no moves, so that one counter type leaves them absolutely helpless in most cases.
>>
>>59285328
shut up water cuck.
>>
>>59285328
It suffers the same fate as the other half of boltbeam. Great for coverage but the Pokémon that actually have the type often have glaring flaws, especially the Physical ones.
>>
>>59285613
>>59285751
Meanwhile shitters like Archaludon get to have excessive amounts of privilege.
>>
For some reason they decided water's only totally losing matchup is to itself, and that of its three "losing" matchups, it needed consistent coverage against two with the same type of move, and to be neutral against the last, this last one being one of the easiest types to counter in the game because of ground.
>>
>>59285757
Not that much privilege, all things considered. Its coverage isn't that great.
>>
>>59285761
I... see?
>>
>>59285751
I don't think electric coverage is used often beside volt switch and a few ingame cases to fry gyara's.
>>
>>59285328
Because Water-types get too many Ice-moves. If Electric was on the same level almost every Electric-type would also have a wide Fire-type movepool
>>
>>59285999
Fire wouldn't really help them. But Energy Ball sure would.
>>
>>59285328
name 5 non-legendary/mythical/ub/paradox electric mons that are still considered good
even bugs have more
