WiWa, WW, WsWsWhat is it?
>>59286212Wawiwawawiwawiwawiwiwiwa
>>59286212It's WinWavFucking frogtard
>>59286212WiWa. You put it first for a reason
It's WiWi because it triggers a certain faggot on here.
It's WaWi
WinWan Won.
>>59286212>WiWa
>>59286212Whatever you want, broI use WW personally
>>59286212it's WaWa WiWa
>>59286212windu waika

WiWa
>>59286212WW>>59288275The derangement required to make an image like this is astounding
>>59286212I use WW, following previous patterns from RBY until SV, the only weird one is swsh because people thought others would mix it with soulsilver, which I find silly.
>>59289467there was also technically SuMo, too instead of SM, because of the whole "S&M = sadomasochism" thing. though with how fucked the average sun & moon fan on /vp/ is, maybe that was foreboding.
The real answer is WiWa because it has the least amount of syllables. This is the same reason why SwSh was adopted. Most normal people pronounce things in their head before typing and WiWa (We-Wa) is the fastest way to do that since WW (double-u-double-u) is so cumbersome. People who prefer WW don't have an inner monologue in my opinion.
>>59289506"muh internal monologue" is such a cope holy, you're genuinely low IQ if you have to sound things out in your head like a retard and can't just conceptualize the abbreviation symbolically.
>>59286212If you have to ask then it's WW. The only reason to ever deviate from the most simple and standard way is by overwhelming majority. The fact that this is even a questions shows it's WW.Do we really have to do this exact same cycle for every single release since gen 8? Don't you get tired of making the same posts over and over?
>>59288275>raises pawummm... what's your suggestion for wind and waves?
>>59288275deflect all you want but when 2 things have the same starting letter you need to keep adding letters until they stop being the same
>>59289506I do say the syllabes in my head before typing but I also use your logic the other way around, would be cumbersome if I had to speak them out loud (which no one does) but it's faster and easier to just type WW instead of messing with upper/lowercases and four letters instead of two. My brain doesn't care if "double-u-double-u" is longer to think if typing (which is the main use of the acronyms) WW is faster and efficient
>>59289506What the fuckThis is the most retarded thing I have read in weeksAre you literally 10??? Who the fuck "thinks out loud" before typing LMFAOOOO that's so fucking stupidAnd no, that's not normal, unless you're literally a child who is still learning how to write
>>59286212RBGSRSDPBWXYSMSSSVWWSimple as
>>59286212WaWi
>>59289506Nigga it's exclusively writing abbreviations. You aren't supposed to say "Arr, bee and why", you're supposed to say "Red, Blue and Yellow" or "Gen one" if you're lazy.Talking is MUCH faster than typing. You don't need to use abbreviations when talking, especially when most version names have only one syllable anyway.Abbreviations are text only. What you write and what you say or read out loud are two different things. For example>60 MPHYou don't say "sixty em pee eych", you say "sixty miles per hour". >1h 20mYou don't say "one eych twenty em", you say "one hour and twenty minutes".Now stop being retarded.
ban frogslop
>>59289527Why? When you refer to Winds/Waves you're referring to them as a pair, what use is there in being able to differentiate them within the abbreviation? It doesn't matter. If you want to refer to them singularly, you would use the full name, that's what people do anyway. You say "Pokemon RS" for the pair of games, but nobody says "Pokemon R", they would say "Pokemon Ruby" if it's singular.
>>59288383ExWai
>>59288275How insufferable are you?
>>59286212We should call it Windy and Wavy like that one Jaredposter did a few months ago. It's clearly memorable as it's been stuck in my head after seeing it.
>>59289506>Arrbeewhy>GeeYessii>ArrEssEe >DeePeePee>BlaTwoWhy2>ExWhy & OrrAss>SunMoo>Swish >ScarViThat's my blogpost on how I pronounce them :^)
I personally say dubyadubya, no ambiguity.
>>59288443>>59289527>>59289937lmao at the trannies replying to this EVERY TIME. This is a tactic called "artificial concensus manufacturing" by the way.
>>59289506I disagree that it's the correct choice but the fact that people are telling you your argument is wrong is laughable. It's entirely coherent and internally consistent... I suspect some replies are made in jest, and some are made by illiterates.
Waiw
>>59286212PKMN WW.
WiWa. Idiot.
>winds & waves both start with "w">sword & shield both started with "s">games such as black & white or scarlet & violet don't s share the same letter of their namesIf Sword and Shield is commonly abbreviated as "SwSh" and not "SS" while Black & White is just "BW" then it's common sense that Winds & Waves is "WiWa".Facts don't care about your feelings.
>>59290199we used SwSh because SS was already in use for SoulSilver, having the same first letter is irrelevant. why would it matter?
>>59286212Why not just WW? The other options sounds convoluted/quirky for the sake of it.
>>59290313>quirky for the sake of it.that's exactly what it is with WiWa. there is no reason to use it, just people going against convention for the sake of being different and quirky.
>RBY/RGBY>GSC>RSE>FRLG>DPPt>HGSS>BW>B2W2>XY>ORAS>SM>USUM>LGPE>SwSh>LA>BDSP>LZA>WiWaThese are the only correct abbreviations
>>59289506you're right, the only reason I use WiWa is because it sounds funny and is easier on my internal monologue, otherwise it has to enunciate "Winds and Waves". I don't remember the last time i said "ORAS" in full, for example.>>59289772if MPH was a pronounceable abbreviation like lol, lmao, jk, I would use it over "miles per hour" in my internal monologue when reading, same way i use pH over "potential hydrogen".Do you really read out "ORAS" as the full term?
WiWa or you’re a retard
>>59290472You don't just call Legends Z-A ZA lol?
>>59290472why randomly break convention with Winds Waves? at least SwSh had an excuse because SS was in use already, but there is no reason not to use WW. if you're going to say WiWa then you should also say ReBl, GoSi, RuSa etc. but you won't, because that's obviously retarded. so is WiWa.
>>59290199swishy swoosh trannies and sumo fags were retarded too
>>59290514you argue is not right but finish by saying "so is wiwa"? dumb cunt
>>59290535want to try that again in English?
>>59290531swsh I at least understand because of soulsilver although I'm not sure it was totally necessary because people rarely talk about soulsilver in a vaccum without heartgold. but yeah sumo was retarded, and has mostly fallen out of use since the first couple months when people were trying to force it. this wiwa retardation will go the same way.
>>59286212Pokemon Wives
>>59290029I get his line of thought I just think the whole premise is stupid. the internal monologue shit aside which I think is almost always just used as midwit posturing, with the exception of a small handful of acronyms that have basically transcended their original meaning like lol or wtf, I don't say acronyms out loud in my head, I say the full words and just automatically translate into acronyms as I'm typing. which, actually makes WW easier as it's less keystrokes.
it's obviously WW and the only reason we're having this conversation is because the community is so starved for content that we're just inventing shit to argue about.
>>59289506How do you pronounce SwSh?
>>59290663Swish obviously?
>>59290574Most people pronounce them in their head, though. Even ones normally spelled out are pronounced; most people do HEAR "Essowess" or whatever and not just imagine it. It's just that subconscious reading and mental patterning like that is the most common.
>>59290663Swishy-swoosh obviously?
wiwa wonned
>>59290712SOS is one of those that has transcended its meaning though. I acknowledge there are acronyms like that. I just don't think the Pokemon ones reach that level.
>>59290663Swuh-shuh.
>>59289506>I have le inner monologue I am intellectually superior *tips fedora*>but I can't handle imagining an extra syllable IN MY HEADlmao
>>59290574nah, some acronyms are used more because they can be enunciated nicely, like ORAS, BDSP (rhyme), compared to much lesser people saying "USUM"
