I've always wished that pokémon could freely unevolve like digimon can and become their evolved forms just for battle. There's even many cases of unevolving in the franchise, so why not go further with it?

>>59288218all of Slowpoke's evolutions, Sylvally, Exeggcutor, Melmetal, reversion after Mega Evolution, some Pokémon TCG cards, some events that happen in the anime, various manga, Pokémon Unite, various instances in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
>>59288194That’s what megas are for, so shillmons can temporarily become gods while being able to return to their original beloved and form. Most Pokémon that evolve are fodder that only exist to be stepping stones to their evolved forms so allowing them to devolve would be a waste
>>59288241a waste of what? I'm pretty sure a lot of people would be happy to be able to keep their pokemon in their ideal stage
>>59288194Lol
The main games should give us the option to Devolve our Pokémon, it would have a few uses. Such as getting specific Moves, changing from one split evo to another or just out of preference. I don't see why not. There doesn't really seem much point for Evolving a Pokémon to be permanent, when Evolving is just transforming to another species, not ageing or real-life evolution.
