>we'll never have spanish pokemon names
>every mainline pokemon game is impossible to interpret because it uses nothing but idioms straight from spain and mistranslations.
>>
This is because Spain is fake and Mexico was founded by the rest of Europe as a psyop to keep up the lie that Spain is real. Scarlet and Violet were just the latest pieces of the propaganda campaign.

>Spain
>literally Spin with "A" smackdab in the middle
"A Spin", anon. As in, to spin a lie that such a country exists. Seriously, how dense can you be?
>>
Spanish is really bad for this, i didn’t like yokai watch spanish names
>>
>>59288427
You got your spic version in Legends ZA and Champions and spics still whine because they hate the new translations so lmao

>we'll never have spanish pokemon names
You want more Codigo Cero?
Not translating the names was the best localizing decision ever made.
>>

aftter bangers like "Portazo", "Retroceso" and "Rastro", I cannot but agree.
We got really, really lucky that most of the paradoxes had really simple names that were braindead to translate.
>>

And the worst offender: "Contador"
>>

Is portazo the one that is supposed to be slam, but they used the word for slamming a door or something like that?

I'm trying to learn spanish, but playing the games in spanish is such a terrible experience. I swear one of the NPCs uses the word "cabron" as well but I can't find it
>>
>>59288987
Yep Slam was translated as Portazo. The cringy move names are the reason why to this day I continue playing in English.
>>

>counter was translated as “person who counts” instead of “counterattack”
wtf
>>
>>59288437
i am from spain and i am real.
>>
>>59289035
that's what you get when you use translators who speak the language it's being translates from instead of the language it's being translated into. It's why stuff like engrish exists, too.
>>
>>59289377
IIRC the translators spoke spanish, but they got all the text in RB out of context and translated it from english.
>>59288987
The "spaniard" spanish translation is known to be weird and too local even among latin spics.
But as a learning tool I don't think its bad as long as you keep that in mind.
