Was Horizons a commercial success or failure compared to the Ashnime? Just curious since I don't keep up with the anime so I don't know how well received or not it's been.
>>59293234Not sure how it's doing in Japan but international Netflix numbers place it consistently below Ash seasons like Indigo League, XY, and Journeys. Though this probably doesn't directly translate to lower commercial performance as whatever deal TPC has with TPCi was likely solidified well in advance of international dubbing and distribution. The dub is fairly cheap to produce, so unless Netflix starts low-balling TPCi for distribution rights I think all parties are still happy with the arrangement.Since they decided to extend it past its planned 3 year run, it's probably doing well enough to justify its own existence.
They're shitting out so much merchandise based on Captain Pikachu, Yellow Lucario, Black Fug and White Zygarde there's definitely a lot of fans out there that enjoy it and want to buy stuff based on it.

It's trending better than Journeys did so I think TPC is happy with the performance of it. The idea was to inject some life into the formula and it did just that. I don't think TPC really gives much of a shit about the dub which is why they just dump it on netflix with no name voice actors.
