Is Dream World an integral part of the Gen 5 experience would you sayI never got to use it
Yes. Gen 5 will forever be unfinished because Game Freak rushed the games and baked planned obsolesce into the core design of the games.
>>59362771You can use some of it through tools but not the games or whatever.
>>59362783>>59362720>>59362790Exactly, you can emulate DW in 2026, unlike Gen 6 Global Link that's dead for good
>>59362790Yeah I'm aware but it kind of just feels like cheating and I have to make rules for myself to what feels fair if I really want to use it and read about it and set it up and honestly I'm just gonna play the sequels asap cause it seems to have a lot of stuff in the game dream world has such as berries and hidden abilities for most Pokemon and I can use dream radar still so
>>59362794>Exactly, you can emulate DWNo you can't.
>>59362797https://github.com/kuroppoi/entralinkedhttps://github.com/shutterbug2000/dreamworld-reawakened
>>59362801After looking into it yeah this is actually playable and pretty new like a week or so ago
>>59362796it is what it is, anon. that’s how it rolls unfortunately, can only deal with what you’re given
>>59362817We could form a gang and go to masudas house and make him put the dream world servers back upNever give up on your dreams Anon
It's integral to the full experience but not really necessary for a casual playthrough.
>>59362841To me the full experience and a casual playthrough are basically the same thing. What do you mean when you use these terms?
Integral? No, not in the slightest. A mildly amusing companion to the actual games, yeah, kinds. Ignoring all the heavy bullshit they did put into the game naturally. Taking that into consideration and it works out for the worse on overall.
>>59362771I saw footage on youtube and it didn't seem like a big deal.It was like a interactive flash game that gave you some rewards. No, you aren't going to use some obscure competitive berry in your casual playthrough of Pokemon BW1/BW2.
>>59362771You won't be getting any berries unless you cheat nor will you get PWT download tournaments, C-Gear skins, pokedex skins, or event musicals.
>>59362861Well, it had secret bases (kinda)
>>59362844It's where you were expected to farm berries and catch pre-gen 5 Pokemon before the League. And you could do it just after the 1st gym if you wanted to, hence DW mons generally being set to level 10.But if you're just doing the 8 gyms and the league and some post game areas, it's not really necessary.
>>59362861I played it back when it was active. It was kinda dull
>>59362783>planned obsolesceIt's just the result of trying to use modern tech (at the time).Save rams of NES/SNES/Gameboy cartridges were never intended to last more than 20+ years, they intended to last for as long as that generation lasted and then some more.Pokemon wasn't even the only game at the end with "dead features" because they were experimenting with finnicky tech, games like Dragon Quest 9 had extra dungeon with boss battles features FINAL bosses of previous game, really cool stuff but you can't access anymore. The stuff in BW is silly in comparison.
>>59362875>I played it back when it was active. It was kinda dullPretty much, this thread is just some OCD schizo angry that he can't "100%" the game now, so he tries to pretend that it makes it game unplayable.
>>59362885You're creating people in your head again I was just asking a questionPlease go outside and have sex
Sure, I guess, but it fucking sucked, man. Fucking shit minigames, boring/laggy/slow-paced UI, and you could only get one Pokemon from it per day. Shit was a fucking chore. The novelty of getting non-Unovan Pokemon in your game with HAs was cool, but that kinda wore off once the sequels came out with that shit baked in the main story. If ya want to simulate the "true" experience, instead just do some boring ass chores around the house and then reward yourself by using PKhex to inject a random low-level shitmon with a HA into one of your boxes.
>>59362771No, I did a bunch of dream world>woah, ice cream stacking minigameYou're not missing out on anything that impacts BW
>>59362861the berries are whatever, it's the non-unovan pokemon and hidden abilities that's important
>>59363287>non-unovan pokemonYou can transfer from gen 4, so it's not like you can't have them.>hidden abilitiesThe most notable thing and I'll concede, but for a casual playthrough you don't really need HA with the exception of making a few shitmons more viable.
>>59362861>I don't use berries so that means no one does
I played gen 5 when it was brand new, tried dream world like 3 times, and I completely disregarded it within like 2 months or whateveryou're not missing a thing
>tfw lost my first shiny in the Dream World;_;
>>59362771id say take however much you think the pokewalker is important to the hgss experience and slash it by 50% and thats how much it mattersas its basically the pokewalker but less cool and convenient with even less incentives to use it
Dream World is NOT an integral part of the Gen 5 experience. The Pokewalker is NOT an integral part of the HGSS experience. The same is true for every other peripheral or internet connection feature in the Pokémon series. If it's not IN-GAME, it doesn't even count.
>>59362771Nah it was basically a web-based flash minigame
>>59362797>Kojo/yawnie BTFOd againkekerino
Not really integral. It was there to get hidden abilities and berries for Pokemon if you had interest in pvp. But you could argue that Hidden abilities are integral to gen 5.
>>59363957You can still get them through hidden grottos and dream radar though
>>59363969Those came later on in B2W2 and I wasn't even aware Radar had hidden ability Pokemon. To me it seemed like it was strictly there for the Therian genies.
>>59363996>Those came later on in B2W2Well it's still part of the generation.>I wasn't even aware Radar had hidden ability Pokemon. To me it seemed like it was strictly there for the Therian genies.Hidden Abilities in general were made so players would have a reason to use all those extra features. Just a way to create more pokemon rarity (beyond shinies).
