the assembly decomps are somehow easier to work with than the C-based decomps which blows my mind. very familiar with C/C++ (mostly C++98) but trying to figure how CreateBoxMon and CreateMon are used and called from so many different places made my brain hurt, as well as those weird goddamn XOR-encrypted substructs for each pokemon that shuffle around, what was gamefreak thinking

All the "limits" around what partner trainers can do in essentials seem to be bypassable with a few lines of custom code. They too can have pokemon that level up just like yours and be a separate team to manage. Treated like a second party. Along with a toggle for auto heal and being able to choose their team in the PC too.
