My personal favourite are the actual holographic (like properly 3D) Pokeballs from unseen forces. The effect doesn’t come through in pictures, but they are very cool. If you haven’t seen these IRL, run don’t walk to your nearest eBay auction and pick one up. I’m also partial to EX Team Rocket and EX FireRed LeafGreen

So since these economies are so artificial, it should be pretty easy to corner the market and make a lot of money. Furthermore you can scoff all you want at people who grade modern cards, but in 5 to 10 years those become The New vintage when they become rare and out of print. Look at what's happening to the mid and the e-reader era right now. Those cards were undesirable for the longest time and now all of a sudden people want them. Tag teams are already going up and they're never going to come down again. As it stands, depending on the timeline and what you have "invested" in, pokémon slabs might be giving you better returns than your 401k
