Anons, I’m quite new to doubles/vgc despite all my years playing Pokemon games. One thing I find myself struggling with currently is knowing when to protect. What is the general thought process for when to double protect and also when to expect the opponent to double protect?

A big factor is the state of the match-ups on the field. It's very common to Protect w/a mon that has a bad match-up while it's partner tries to neutralize the threat.
To a degree you have to put yourself in your opponent's head. Look at your team from an outsiders perspective. What moves are you probably running? What would be the best way to disrupt you?
From my Trick Room team for example: the default game plan is to set up TR with Runerigus while it's partner Protects to take full advantage. But if my opponent seems likely equipped to focus down my Runerigus, I will Protect with Runerigus while it's partner tries to take out one of the threats.
Double protecting is not usually ideal because it robs you of momentum. But it can be useful in certain scenarios, like stalling out field effects like Trick Room or Tailwind or screens.

May I humbly brag about my new old mons that I just brought up from my 3DS? I started playing Champions when it released on mobile and quickly realized that I needed external support to get the meta players as fast as possible. Also in learning this game, I realized like you said that titles and ribbons are the new status symbol, and that just drove me crazier wanting to resurrect my event pokemon and other guys who had been with me for almost two decades. So I spent weeks desperately searching through moving boxes that had been left unopened for 2+ years before I first found my Switch with Sword installed and then later my 3DS and a box for Animal Crossing that actually had Alpha Sapphire inside it. Both hidden in my sister’s old room. Thankfully, my ds already still had pokebank and transporter. I posted this guy >>59482345 who I caught myself in the glory days of gen4 action replay hacking. My favorite of all of them is this Japan exclusive 2016 Eevee with the birthday ribbon that I must have received in a wonder trade. It’s almost certainly a hacked mon, but it passed into home so idgaf. Some of my other favorites are the Steven’s shiny Metagross, Cynthia’s Garchomp, shiny Charizard Y, and pokeball Vivillon event Pokemon that I remember from my childhood. Honestly, it really tripped me out to look these things up and see the dates and realize how I’ve spent the overwhelming majority of my life playing these games. I also found a bunch of old pictures on my 3DS, and that was very heartwarming. I don’t have rare vintage cards, but I have these memories saved in the cloud now. Thanks for reading my blog.

I was running H.zoraoak with round for slyveon/primarina.
It works better when your opponent takes the bait and tries to fake out on the disguised zora and then you just kill the other pokemon before it attacks. fish is probably the worst thing in the meta because it has such specific counters
more or less the only things that actually beat fish are:
- STAB sucker punch
- heliolisk (lol)
- focus sash on a foul play/shadow ball/etc user (irrelevant in sand and predictable to double target)

There used to be teams with fast mode and slow-mode centered around Vileplume and Torkoal back in early S/V.

In terms of bare minimum game information, I would expect the following in a game like this with this huge of a franchise;

- a menu with a list of moves, move descriptions, and which Pokémon learn them.

- a menu of abilities, ability descriptions, and which Pokémon have them.

- a menu of mega Pokémon and their mega abilities. If you’re super lazy, merge into the point above.

This is super basic stuff that is pretty much already coded into the game.

Has anyone here used Mudsdale? I fought one on the ladder and was thinking about building a team with it. It seems good into Garchomp/Kingambit/Incineroar + all of the Raichus running around. I was thinking:
