It's necessary in Magic tournaments because unintentional draws are so common. If TOs don't allow IDs the way they do now, players can just agree to play to play towards a draw, and even if you make rules against that, it can be hard to tell if a draw is a result of natural play or collusion without a judge watching the whole match. Draws in Pokemon are extremely rare, so there's no reason to allow players to ID.

Funny story is though we don't do too well against the Raptor+ raichu variants I've noticed or atleast has been my experience. Not because the megas they use themselves (though raichu outspeeding lass is annoying) but more because of their supporting cast and mostly arcanine.

Sand raptor is a little bit more forgiving but only a little it feels like to me a 55-45 matchup maybe 60-40.

In reg MA I ran 17spe, 20HP, 21Def, 1SpDef, and 7 SpAtk.
It was calc'd to survive the 2 most common rockslides. Reg MB kind of upended that with LO. Many people are running near max HP and 32Def to survive LO rockslides.
Some of the toxapex/Zard teams are running Timid Zard though with a fair bit of speed though.

Holy shit every single doubles Whimsicott is basically the same. If you see it on the team sheet it's always gonna be one of the first pokemon. Then without fail it's gonna turn one open prankster tailwind. I've never seen them mix it up. It's because Charizard sets up weather (good for weather wars) and deals a lot of damage even with almost no SpA investment, which means you can invest a lot in bulk and survive hits you shouldn't. Floette covers the bad matchups by being in a better speed tier and dealing a lot of damage no matter what.
So basically you can't ignore them, but Basculegion and Kingambit are way stronger than they should be, while matching up well against themselves. I hope they nerf Basculegion or add more choices so we can counter them somehow.

Some interesting notes. Dragonite is the surprise mega of the tournament, despite only 9 being brought, 2 of them made top cut and 1 making it to the final. Scovillian and Froslass stocks rose after deep runs by the 2 remaining "Italian" teams left after a lackluster day 1. Of the most popular megas, Floette had the strongest performance throughout, now officially winning worlds after making it on both finalist teams. Garchomp went from bottom 5 non megas to top 5 after a very strong phase 2, while Venusaur went from top 5 to bottom 5 after the second worst phase 2 performance after Incineroar. Incineroar in general was by far the worst performing mon at the tournament. The data is in, the king of vgc is officially dogshit (in this meta at least). Of the 6 members of the popular delphox/blastoise setup team (delphox, blastoise, incineroar, sinistcha, sneasler, kingambit) all but sneasler and kingambit shit the bed. The fact that kingambit and was the best performing mon despite being brought down by this bad performing team speaks to it's strength.
