>>59618101>>What Pokémon did you have the most trouble recruiting?exeggcute in rt is torture>>Have you ever actually used legendary Pokémon after recruiting them?not many>>Are there any later-gen Pokémon you think would work well for NPC gimmicks? (Like Crogunk's Swap Shop or V-WHEEEEL?)pmd has a lot of cafes so imma roll with alcremie for a fitting choice.>>Do you think different types have different berries they prefer, just like with gummis? Also, where do gummis come from?i feel like berries are more of an individual preference rather than a type thing (honestly gummis specifically being tasty by type always seemed weird to me).>where do they come fromsame place the donuts and chocolate originate from duhhh
>>59618101>What Pokémon did you have the most trouble recruiting? This is an odd one, but in PSMD, in the Spanish script, the text string that tells your where a wandering Pokémon is once you've ran out of missions was translated badly, and doesn't tell you the dungeon they are at. (It just says they are "in the dungeon".) So I had to run trough all dungeons that can spawn mission to get my missing roamers, with Zangoose taking the longes. If I had to do it again, I now know that you can change the system setting to change the language of the game to see where the wanderer actually is.>Have you ever actually used legendary Pokémon after recruiting them?Mew in Explorers of Darkness, as my fast friend mon.>Are there any later-gen Pokémon you think would work well for NPC gimmicks? (Like Crogunk's Swap Shop or V-WHEEEEL?I'll kill myself if Gimmijew replaces the storage box. I'd much rather have a box for item and money storage.>Do you think different types have different berries they prefer, just like with gummis? Also, where do gummis come from?More than the berries themselves, I'd see specific types favoring specific berry flavors (the ones in mainline). For this to be a discussion, we'd need more than just two HP restoring berries and status clearing berries that get outclassed by the heal seed.
Why people don't use nuzleaf as a main character for stories?
>>59618791Why DOES it have napples?
>>59618797Almond milk
>>59618786Refreshing to know that English wasn't the only language with a poor translation of Super. Are there any other weird translation errors in Spanish?
>>59619085Idk about the Japanese scripts, so I wouldn't be able to tell mistranslations. The only other one I can think of is that, when interacting with the stairs through the ground option, the names "stairs" is in all lowercase, which is kinna sloppy. Not much of a surprised that the Super translation is sloppy. In PAL versions, the hero is locked to male, and the partners to female cos they couldn't add gender differences to the scripts.
>>59618791>humanoid, but not furry>ugly evo line except Seedot>dark type (in PMD this means you're 100% gonna be evil)
>>59619633Do we know who localized Super? Weird it turned out so sloppy compared to the previous games.
>>59619685>>dark type (in PMD this means you're 100% gonna be evil)Isn't that poison type?>Team Meanies>Team Skull>GTI Toxicroak
>>59620192>Lers just implement futuristic magitech into a rustic settingPSMD WAS A MISTAKE
>>59620112Don't psychic types in PMD have a worse track record too with Drowsie and Munna?
>>59620795>alakazam>celebi>lake trio>medicham/gardevoir>jirachiIt's a mixed bag but typically positive.
>>59620221technology is not solely a modern concept
>>59618101>what pokemon did you have the most trouble recruiting?Areodactly, I have notoriously bad rng, I’m super bad at gacha games>have you ever used a legendary Pokemon after recruiting themOnly a couple times, max is 4 times>Are there any later-gen Pokémon you think would work well for NPC gimmicks?Like what anon here said >>59618786 , Gimmighoul would be the best choice>Do you think different types have different berries they prefer, just like with gummis? Also, where do gummis come from?I feel like Faity types would like the sweet flavoured ones, Fire types would obviously spicy and normal types prefer bland. And gummies I feel like would have to have been made
>>59620839Yeah but the only real evil dark type is Darkrai, Absol was nice
If I had a nickel for everytime a PMD artwork had a pawmot in it
>>59623101It's already got the hair tuft so it doesn't surprise me.
>>59622420At least half the villains in Super were dark types.
Anyone here played Explorers of Spirit? Is it Worth a playthrough?
>>59624940It's fucking dogshit, half of the game is just vanilla explorers with small changes in dialogue. The gameplay is also piss easy. The only reason people talk about it is because it is the first full length skytemple hack.
i want to play through explorers of fortune again now that there's a new update but i have no idea who to pick as my starter/partner combo
>>59625401Explorers of Alpha btfo Fortune. Fortune was made by a retarded troon. You can tell a lot about the competency of a hack/gamedev by how they word their changelogs.
>>59625392adorable lizardlooks very polite
>>59625425i waa debating trying alpha but (excuse my autism) the ui changes are putting me off and fortune looks like it adds more content overall, i don't really care who made it if the hack is fun
>>59625565I'm sorry Anon, but if you prefer adding 7 or so nugen mons to each dungeon for recruitment first and (doubtfully) for dungeon balance second over hand designing dungeon enemy composition, you must be a retard. You can only use 4 mons at a time, the 4th party member has a hard time following the leader, and if you're rotating mons in and out of your team, you'll have around 6 tops. Going for fulldex completion in PMD in general is already CBT.Dumping Pokémon for the sake of recruitment will affect what enemies you face way more than what mons you use.If you want to use whatever nugen mons you want, hack them in yourself, and you won't have to stick to whatever movepool, IQ group and stat growth the trannie added, on top of dungeon balancing being tossed off only to accommodate for the two mons you want to use.And before you bring up the QoL, Fortune's QoL is mostly patches you can download in Skytemple in a matter of minutes, whereas many of Alpha's additions are custom made for Alpha.
>>59624940Like the other poster mentioned it recycles too much from the Sky story. It takes until the expedition arc for things to actually differ a bit more than minor dialogue/cutscene changes. And even then I'd say 70% of the hack's time you are just playing Sky again. It was mildly interesting at the time it came out since it was the first full-length story hack, but I don't think it is worth playing now. The only memorable thing about it is this cutscene.
>>59624940There's not really any other good full-length hacks but there's plenty of nice shorter ones if you don't mind that. Other than the clover guild hacks, I remember liking the halloween havoc hack even if its difficulty balance felt way too easy until the final boss which felt way too hard. Cute custom sprites though.>>59625401If you just want QoL there's a bunch of other hacks, and you can easily import in your own starter combo these days. If you want a completely new take on PMD gameplay you could always try PMDO.
>>59625814Same energy
>>59618101>>Are there any later-gen Pokémon you think would work well for NPC gimmicks? (Like Crogunk's Swap Shop or V-WHEEEEL?)If they ever bring back the cafe, Polteageist serving gummi tea would be a neat choice.
i like to think high level alpha pokemon can release a powerful pheromones that makes you weaker and hornier
>>59628276Lame headcanon.I stuff a leather mask with dried flowers to create a filter mask to cancel the slop pheromones.
>>59628286>Embers you're lame mask Now what dipshit?
>>59628910no anon you don't get it, the artwork can ONLY be seen on twitter where you CANNOT search for it.
>>59628319The leather was of course fireproofed. Also corrosionproofed and hardened to resist phisical force.
editing PSMD models is a nightmare, do not recommend
>>59629208Knock off
>>59629889What angle are you approaching it at?
>>59629835I like the rescue team badge more than the explorers badge. Is that weird?
>Nuzleaf gets fucking confused in the tutorial dungeon and hits me with a Feint Attack, killing me instantlyWHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
>>59630208It's a little thing called foreshadowing.
>>59630208I love shenanigans like that, and I'd rather have them occur in the tutorial dungeons, with no items to loose, than 30 floors deep into a postgame dungeon.Btw, when you retried the dungeon after fainting, did you still have to do the 1st floor tutorial? Or were you free to act?
>>59629892It's secured too heavily to be easy to knock off or steal.
>>59630300If I pull that off, would you die?
>>59630312No, you would die.Because you leave yourself wide open to counterattack while trying to pull it off.
>>59629923I tried to rip them straight from the ROM and put them into my model editor, but after I edited and then re-exported and repacked, the game didn't like it. This time I'm going to see if just grabbing them off modelers resource and then packing it into a bch will work. I'm trying to replace the Scarf model on one of the mons with another, just to see if it's possible.
>>59630386didn't work eitherIt's over.
>>59630386I'm really curious. What are you working on? Are you able to share?
>>59630825I was literally just trying to give Totodile the different model for the in-game scarves; Totodile has a bowtie in base and I wanted to give him the scarf from Charmander. I failed, unfortunately, since the game seems to be autistic about what is repacked into its files. If anyone wants to give it a shot though I can send you all the things to get started
>>59630386I don't know anything about repacking game files (only unpacking them) but I vaguely know (of) a few people who might? try //tumblr/itreds-neurons
>>59630208It'd be way too much effort for something so small, but I wish the games would have little extra dialogue for extremely niche situations like that. Or maybe do what Shiren 6 did and have achievements for getting yourself into rare situations, like an enemy throwing you directly into a monster house.
To whoever's running the new lore doc, would you mind adding a section on what's actually inside Capim Town? Thinking of having a scene where my characters go around and visit a bunch of shops and whatever, but I can't remember all that many and I'd prefer not to make up redundant locations.
>>59631653I didn't put them in the lore doc since a bunch are already mentioned in the locations page, I can put a condensed version onto the lore doc in the future thoughhttps://rentry.org/CloverLocations#capim-town-and-environsOther than the places listed there I can't remember any other specific stores mentioned in stories other than generic Kecleon shops, but I could be forgetting some. I looked through some older stories to see if I could find anything and in Overelming Week it's mentioned there's a small library in Capim itself and a bakery run by an Alcremie.
>>59632750Wow I'm stupid, I can't believe I missed that. Thanks!
>>59633125Uh.
>>59633125>cat noises instead of dog noises>hideous color scheme>obviously a fetish>not even pmd
