The world aesthetic is "different" I guess, the music is solid, combat is ok. But to say that it's one of the best FFs, or even THE best is just completely incomprehensible to me. The reskins just make the random battles so much more of a slog, and the story... Remember the bit about the lion man, whatever his name is, and how he's bullied for having a little horn? That, and many other parts of the story, must have been written with literal children in mind. X was a very clear dip in quality compared to the previous games and the start of a steep decline of the quality of the series as a whole.

This was awful. It felt all cramped and small, no matter the scene. Plus if you didn't like the water ball mini game? Well too bad it's critical to getting certain shit.

Id much rather do all that again then dodge 200 fucking lightning bolts in a row.
