When did ZXC become so common a standard in PC games? ZSNES defaults to ZXC ASD for BAR YXL and that was first released in 97, so probably before that time. I don't feel like I ever saw it as a standard before the 2000s however (seemed every free flash/download game used arrow keys and ZXC).

Some 90s PC-98 gmaes use ZX for confirm/cancel or ZXC when a 3rd button is required. Maybe other Japanese computers used this, as it works well with arrows or numpad.
