This might very well be the best game ever made.
>>11988573Wrong image.
>>11988573>>11988576Op here, sorry messed up again haha
It was mogged by 2 in every way
>>11988573Just play Hugo
>>11988586which one
>>11988595Black Diamond Fever
>>11988614Why not Quest for the Sunstones`?
>>11988664It's soulless
>>11988573I found it to be really shitty
>>11988576fpbp. even back in the day, crash was a "hey neato, that was a fun game" but didnt blow your mind in any capacity. it felt like the same 16 bit platformers we already played to death already but with some gimmicky 3d taped onto it. mario 64/OOT were completely revolutionary shifts in game design that truly utilized the third dimension in ways basically no ps1 game actually does (well).
>>11988583takes a big dip in quality starting with oil ocean
>>11988586>Just play HugoI shall try it, you seem confident about this
>>11988576>the game with the worst camera on earth>and some of the most bland and empty levels >that makes you replay each level 6 times>with some of the most nonsensical and frustrating physics >where you accelerate like a van, turn like a boat, ricochet off walls like a bouncy ball, struggle to walk up a slight incline, and with literal invisible walls scattered throughout levels>with a dozen different jump variants when all you want is a fucking camera that is actually looking where you're going instead of shoved up Mario's asshole >is somehow "the best games ever made"What level of Stockholm Syndrome retardation is this? Instant red flag.
>>11988576Fipper Bipper
>>11988816it was like a crappy mario game in the era that was supposed to be all about 3d. we had shit like thps and gran turismo and tons of other cool shit. crash was dated on birth. eurojank levels of blandness. decent music and colorful graphics.4/10
>>11988576>yeah the level design, soundtrack, artstyle, controls, camera, enemy design, boss design, hazards, and gay easter egg hunt gameplay are complete dogshit>and you have to retread the same levels half a dozen times>but MUH MOVEMENT!!!!>...except even the movement is terrible though because Mario's physics are completely fucking nonsensical and inconsistent and you are fighting the camera at every turnTHE single most overrated game of all time praised by dimwits and smoothbrains everywhere
>>11988882It doesn't play like a Mario game or a 3D game at all you fucking moron. It's more of a refinement of the 16-bit platformer if anything, and plays more similar to something like DKC. And calling Crash bland is just bordering on delusional. Your biases are blatantly apparent you fanboy drone.
>>11988573>>11988583God no>>11988576Understandable.
>>11988896>refinementIt felt like shit to play.
>>11988573>>11988576>>11988583all better than shitshine at least
>>11988968Nope, game feels like butter. Simple moveset but each action you can perform has a specific purpose, intention, and trade-off, and the levels are designed around this. Just absolutely nailed the fundamentals.
>>11988983You're utterly fucking delusional, holy shit. This is what happens when retards can't out of their nostalgia
>>11988573too many frustrating levels, I especially hate the bridge ones>>11988586based Hugo CHAD
>>11989013I barely played Crash at all growing up, I played it a couple times but never beat more than a few levels or had any strong attachment to it. I've beat both N.Sane Trilogy and the OG Trilogy in recent years and both are exceptional.
>>11988878>>11988886Tendies aren't capable of doing anything except praising nintendo, even (indeed, especially) when the praise is unwarranted.
>>11988584Mario 64 was?
>>11988583I honestly don't get the appeal of the sonic genesis games. I like 2d platformers and have never been able to get into a single 2d Sonic game
>>11990174Each sonic game on gensis honestly is pretty different. For two, the mindset you need is: "How quickly can I beat this stage?", and remember that the upper paths are usually faster than the lower ones. In addition, you need to relise, that the game has what I like to call " passivity traps": when you get a section where you can just hold right without having "earned" it, it's most likely a trap, where if you're not careful, you'll run into a wall or something. The game's highly based on replayability, so don't feel discouraged if your inital runs will be a bit slow.
>>11989516>needs to use a smoothed out, upscaled emulator screenshot of Spyro so that the graphics don't look like total garbage
>>11990424its console warring 101 you noob
>>11988576Fpbp>>11988583Spwp
>>11990469Not an excuse
>>11990489if you want to win you gotta do what ever it takes
>>119901743D Sonic games had vastly more draw distance. For a game where you move fast you need to see more in front of you than the pitiful screen space you get with the 2D 16 bit gaming. This is why the genesis games aren't as fun until you mastered all the trial & error.
>>11990174They're piss easy games to beat if you play slowly and carefully. You take damage, you grab a ring and you're safe again. The fun is in utilizing the physics and different routes to plan out how to go fast and beat your previous time.
>>11990757Sonic 1 was pretty tough, definitely harder than games like Castlevania, Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, etc, especially since it has such limited continues. Never finished Sonic 2 and 3 because I hated them.
>>11988573A surprising amount of soul for a game who's sole intention was to maximise marketability and sales
>>11988584Except like, level design. Not like that matters. But if you're a toddler-brained invalid who only cares about epic movement and pretty colors then yeah Crash 2 and 3 are better
>>11990772Nta but 2 seemed a little more refined than 1, which makes sense given that Naughty Dog had a little more experience by then. And with the inclusion of nitro crates, body slams, and slide mechanic, 2 expanded the depth of the core gameplay a little bit. But 1 had a greater challenge level and larger level theme diversity so there's that. Both 1 & 2 were better than 3 imo.
>>11990760>Sonic 1 was pretty toughIt's more difficult than 2 or 3, but an adult who's familiar with platformers shouldn't have a problem with it.
>>11990760It's mainly just the return of Labyrinth Zone in the final Act that kicks my teeth in. The rest of Sonic 1 isn't too bad. Mega Man 1 was certainly tougher.
>>11990974Swap Sonic and Crash
>>11991007lol
>>11990693It's not so much about seeing what's coming, but *feeling* it. Kinda like you judt know when theres a fake wall in a souls game
>>11991059I agree. Its somewhat intuitive. But sometimes it just fucks you. I guess you need that element of surprise.
>>11990974Spot on
It's fun, but the best game ever made is rock paper scissors
>>11990494How can you win when Spyro aped the camera controls from 64? It literally would not have existed without Nintendo you troglodyte.
