Just did my no death clear in this bad boy, thinking about doing no death clears for the rest of the (pre SotN) Castlevania games. Anyone have any experience or insight?

Or just discuss any no death/challenge runs you've achieved or are working on in general.

If you want to beat Castlevania III, get reallllllll good with Sypha. Forgot II, it's a waste of your time
Bloodlines is the best and most even balanced.

I did a 1CC (on hard, if that exists? I forget - was certainly NA version, anyway) without becoming particularly expert with Sypha. A no-death run couldn't be THAT much harder. I never bother with those though... when mistakes are punished as hard as that I become tense and stop having fun. No-damage runs are right out.

I've done no deaths in Bloodlines and Dracula XX. Bloodlines is super easy if you use Lecarde. Dracula XX is harder but once you get good you'll realize that there is very little RNG in the game so everything can be learnt.

For Dracula XX I recommend going for the good ending path because Death is genuinely easier to learn to do consistantly than the Werewolf.

By comparison the Werewolf is a lot more random and acts fast, so you have to react and react fast.

Protip: item crash is your friend, it makes you invicibile so use it when you see you're going to get hit.

I've also done this game. From my experience, good ending route in genneral is the easiest to learn, as stage 5 (both due to Werewolf and the stage itself) can only be avoided if you go for stage 5' in the first place, and at that point, it's easier to just learn how to play through stage 3 and 4 consistently than to deal with Werewolf. Death is also not too difficult in this game once you learn him as you've said. Beware stage 4's hunchback section at the end, it doesn't seem too difficult but they can kill you easily if you let them mess with you.

The hunchbacks are the worst, very unpredictable. I was actually trying for no hit run and I avoided the bad ending path JUST because of them.
