the actual best classicvania game and Im not even slightly joking.
>>11989081Go on. (I got close to the end and pooped out. Maybe will attempt again this Halloween.)
Reminder that Kid Dracula is not Alucard.
>>11989085yes he is. it isnt officially canon but its obviously their intention.
>>11989081pretty fucking lame we didnt get this game. I know we got the GB version which is cool, for a GB game its great even but still obviously worse. really makes me wonder what other awesome fami-only games we missed out.
>>11989105First game (Japan only)https://www.vgmuseum.com/mrp/kiddracula/documents/manual_translation.jpg>Literally says "I am Dracula">Story is about regaining Dracula's throne and title as lord of all demons, sits on the throne at the end Literally Dracula's role (not Alucard's role)Game Boy Game (international)>gets rid of all mentions of him being Dracula lord of all demons, his throne, etc>instead shoehorns lot's of references to his fatherIn short, they retconned him from being "Kid Dracula" to "Dracula's Kid" because for the international release they couldn't translate the concept of chibi characters since Americans didn't know what that was.>Alucard already existed in CV3 (and looked nothing like this)so why didn't they say he was Alucard if it was their intention. Because yeah, even in the GB version there is no mention of that and it's not like there couldn't be several kids
>>11989124they have the same hair color, are both the son of the dracula, it would be really cool if it were true, and konami hasnt outright stated they arent. good enough for my headcanon desu
>>11989124Symphony of the Night is full of Kid Dracula references for a reason, anon.
>>11989081oh i get it, he's on the castle looking at the distance in the intro as opposed to looking at the castle from a cliff in the ending, that's clever
>>11990262Now that's what we call subversion of tropes
>>11989081They should have made more Kid Dracula games
>>11989081Played this through just a few months ago on the Classic Collection. The first several levels are very fun and cute, as are the bonus stages, but the moment the game hits the space elevator level the difficulty spikes so hard that it might as well be a wall. I must have died at least 100 times on that level alone, and the airship level following it is pretty purposefully unfair, as well. Also, the last level, while not particularly challenging, doesn't have any checkpoints, so if you die right at the end you have to fight all three bosses over again. It's a pretty good Mega Man clone with some fun humour and level design, but fuck me does that blatant difficulty spike kind of ruin the experience. According to the developer's notes, it was intentional to fuck over kids who wanted an easy game. Great.
>>11989192Symphony of the Night was by different developers at Konami, was it not? It's likely that they saw how Kid Dracula has a unique villain and decided to reference that to make the secret boss (Galamoth) more memorable.>>11990909That's funny. It's like a reflection of how some Castlevania games are easier once you learn the stages/bosses, but more cruel.
>>11989081This game sucks cock. "Wow, let's have a gay japanese game show segment after each level!" "Eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh??? Hiroshi-san is succho a genius!" Fuck you to the retard who made me waste time with this game.
>>11991489lolI feel the opposite, but that reaction was funny.
>alucard fags shitting another thread
For me it's Castlevania Gaiden
>>11989192Every Jap developer was putting in cute references to their other games back then.
>>11991489>Wow it's like I'm not the target demographic of this game not released in my region!
