Why haven't you bought a steamdeck yet for emulation?
I have one just for half life, halo and dreamcast emulation
>>11990485based
stop making this thread retard
There's already a thread for emulation handhelds.Stop making extra threads for this crap.
>>11990482too big. steamdeck defeats the purpose of pocketability.
Because I have a computer.
>>11990493is not against the rules. I think we should have an Steam Deck General. /hhg/ is for android chinkhelds, 'eck is a x64 Linux beast, not an ARM cucked droid.
>>11990515>i'm not breaking the rules! i'm not breaking the rules!this guy got bullied a lot lmao
>>11990519Don't derail this thread, boomer. Discuss about emulation on Steam Deck or get the fuck out of here.
>>11990519it's literally not breaking the rules if the chinkheld advertisement general is allowed
>>11990661I think seethe threads are against the rules
>>11990482Buy an ad.
>>11990482Not poor
>>11990482>You can choose whick emulators>whickESL or AI sloppa?
'Eck's fantastic. Stay mad, Boomer. While the older crowd struggles with emulation on chinkhelds, we, the younger generation, are enjoying emulation on powerful CISC-based PC handhelds, just as GabeN envisioned.>>11990493Imagine being an American't low T Boomer malding because can't afford an 'eck lmao. Enjoy your 20 bucks chinkheld, oldfag. I'm going to fuck emulate Formula One '06 on my 'eck while you seethe.
bump
>>11990939You can play your video games on your way to your shitty job, pajeet? I am so impressed
>>11990482I just play on my shitty phone or switch
>>11990939Pedro is so excited for his new toy, why is everybody so mean :(
>>11990490>>11990493It's because much like 50% of posts on this board, it is bots running LLMs to fake engagement for advertisers
>>11990497Ah yes anon, because you're meeting your friends outside so often.
I got an ROG Ally. Fucking love it.
>>11990482I've considered it but my PC is 20x more powerful so I didn't buy one. Portability is only a intended for homogenous high trust societies.
Hey, broke-ass boomers. I'm playing Halo 2 and just finished Panzer Dragoon Zwei.Suck my fat deck! I love it, it's the greatest emulation handheld ever. I'll try Age of Empires II later on.
>>11992972This. It's a backlog killer and we can switch between all old console games in 5 seconds
>>11991739Valve doesn't sell it in India. The Deck is exclusive to first-world countries like the USA, Japan, Germany, and Mexico.>>11992458>Portability is only a intended for homogenous high trust societies.Imagine living among niggers. You can do better, boomer. You got this.---I'm from Northern Mexico, and so far, so good, narcos haven't tried to steal my Deck, though I've been asked about it while playing in public. The Deck is like the new PSP; it can do everything. The only issue I have is that, since it can run anything, I’m not sure what to emulate next. A few months ago, I finished 46 Okunen Monogatari, a PC-98 RPG, and the Deck's ratio was perfect for it. I'm considering giving Touhou a try next.
>>11992987>Imagine living among niggersI guess you can always dream, Poorlio.
>>11990482day one buyer here. First got it for PC games, then saw the potential it had as an emulation device. I used to use a Raspberry Pi 3 (terrible device) and a PS Mini I got on clearance for $25 in 2019, the Deck with a USB-C dock has replaced all that stuff.>>11992987I finished the PC-98 version Steam Heart's a few weeks ago. Fun shooter with hentai scenes.
>>11992974I can literally do that on my phone. fits in my pocket too.
>>11993301Fox was right: Mexicans are hardworking, and any white construction worker can confirm it. On the other hand, niggers are known to have higher crime rates and greater reliance on food stamps. If you live among niggers... How unfortunate, my brother in Christ. Imagine not even considering getting a Deck because you're worried a nigger might steal it.What a time to live in. Move to Maine, I guess?---Let's move on from the unnecessary /pol/ stuff and talk about retro emulation on Deck. Fuck chinkheld faggots; x86_64 is where it's at.
>>11990482If I see a great deal on an OLED SD I'll get it but my $49 chinkheld does almost everything I want it to in the meantime.
>>11990482Oh I bought one a while ago, using my SteamBux that I made from investing in DotA 2 cosmetics. And then I sold it to a manchild on eBay and pocketed the money shortly before the OLED came out
I prefer playing on original hardware but I do have a Steam Deck for indies and older PC games.
>>11990482i just play on my laptop in bed. Screen is bigger
>>11993574>Fox was right: Mexicans are hardworkinglol. lmao, even
>>11993643Laptop in bed my screens a projector the size of the wall. Ever play shmups the size of your wall? It's the only way, most games are ten times cooler the size of a wall. But, I also enjoy handhelds in bed. Rn I'm playing an r36s, aerobiz supersonic. Great little game, way more addictive than I thought it'd be
>>11993574>starts unnecessary /pol/ stuff>btfo at unnecessary /pol/ stuff>l-l-let's move on from the unnecessary /pol/ stuffHow very hard working of you
>>11993686t. nigger who can't afford a Deck
The deck (like most valve projects) is currently in an in-between state. It's the "just good enough category" for most tasks. It's expensive - but not excessively expensive. It's bulky - but not so bulky that it's unusableIt has a shitty form factor for emulating dual screen games outright. It has an outstanding screen, but it's not good enough to justify the upcharge. It's got a good linux kit, but it's stuck right inbetween native Android apps and native windows apps. It can't run native Android apps, but it also struggles with high performance windows games. With the way that valve refuses to elaborate on a project to actually solve real concerns, it's probably going to get one or one and a half gen of support then die off (like the controller).Hopefully deadlock gets killed first.
>>11993661no I've never even thought of doing that. I'm definitely going to look into it. I usually play platformers. Just playing through Tomb Raider at the moment
>>11993712t. beaner only good for building a deck
>>11990482Kier Starmer is asking me to verify my id
>>11993872I might be a beaner, but at least I'm not emulating GTA San Andreas or DBZ Tenkaichi 3. There are levels to this.
>>11993963 No the only level to this is that you’re a faggot. It’s not that deep.
>>11990515I'm putting this one in for future reference in the archives:The more generals a board has, the worse off the board will be. KEEP THAT SHIT TO >>>>/vg/ and if your general can't survive on that board it doesn't deserve to exist.
>>11990939>ico>klonoa 1/2>killer 7>go go hypergrind>best gran turismo (3)>grimgrimoirethis beaner has good taste
Miyoo is better. Steam is cringe and old.
>>11990482>emulationNot my problem.
>>11994375>hardware emulationseems like it is your problem
>>11990482You can't beat it for handheld emulation IMO, enough power to run the best emulators, with shaders. Though, I am very particular about playing with a period accurate controller for whatever vidya I'm emulationg, so the portability aspect is lost on me.
>>11994273If I were a faggot, I'd live in constant fear, just like you, stuck in a dump surrounded by nigger lowlifes. Bet lowlifes are banging your mother/sisters/daughters/wife daily.Imagine living in constant fear and on top of that, avoid getting stuff like a Deck just because you fear the nigger that might rob you. Yikes.---Today I started playing Snatcher for Sega CD on my 'eck. I'm using the touchpad and touchscreen as a mouse, allowing me to emulate the justifier simply by touching it.
>>11994289>KEEP THAT SHIT TO >>>>/vg/ and if your general can't survive on that board it doesn't deserve to exist. But we're stuck with >>>/hhg/ here in /vr/ because it can't survive in /vg/, Anon. What are you even saying?
>>11993963>There are levels to this. What's wrong with emulating GTA SA or Tenkaichi 3? I feel like when you say there are levels to this you're implying that emulating these games is not a good thing. WTF are you even trying to say?
>>11995668Beaner levels.
>>11990482>Retroid>3DS>ChromaticWhy would I ever need a Deck? It's XBox Hueg, everything else fits in my pocket.
>>11995668He's trying to tell you that he's a wigger
>>11995792Oh I get it. Because DBZ BT3 is popular with mexicans because of their undying love for Dragon Ball for some reason. And also fighting games. I didn't know they liked San Andreas though.
>>11990482I have homebrewed original hardware already. Don't feel like going through getting the games together again.
>>11990939RPCS3 or Xenia for Goldeneye Reloaded?
cause the controls are terrible
>>11996081Cemu
No moni :(
>>11990482And you call it a "Steam Deck" despite the fact that it's obviously half-baked?
>>11994289Not everything can be perfect
>>11990482I have a Legion Y700 for emulation up to GameCube / Wii. The tablet is better for 3DS emulation then a Deck and overall it's a much more portable and better battery life experience. If I could be bothered there's probably ways of getting passable PC indie games onto it too.
gf loves it for emulation. she plays it more than i do lol
>>11996119Get a job, autistic bro. Deck is affordable for what it does, and you will have a blast replaying old games.
>>11993727>Hopefully deadlock gets killed firstit won't, this game has been going on too long with playtesting to just up and can. i know how often valve loves to cancel games but this game is n't just being developed by them, icefrog is the main guy working on it (dota creator) along with the risk of rain devs being hired onto valve just to work on this game. it's a very refreshing take on moba's and i don't possibly see how this game could fail.
>>11990482I got one. Best emulation handheld for the price but the lack of VRR is sorely missed. If you don't care about native PC games save for maybe some really old sourceports, you could get away a 64GB refurb model. They're dirt cheap and will be better than any chintzy Android handheld. The stock screen resolution is too low for my liking but I can fix that with DeckHD in the future/
Is a Steam Deck OLED worth it even with the lower resolution screen? It not having a 1080 screen is the main thing holding me back from biting the bullet.
>>11997656>Is a Steam Deck OLED worth it even with the lower resolution screen?Yes, it's worthy.>It not having a 1080 screen is the main thing holding me back from biting the bullet.Do the math, it has higher density than a 40" 4K display.
>>11997696ye anon, needs to be educated on pixel density.
>>11997696>>11997702My concern is just that 1080 is the standard size and everything scales nicely to it, so I don't know how that will play with the Deck's awkward resolution
>>11997706>y concern is just that 1080 is the standard size and everything scales nicely to it800-80=720Do the math.>I don't know how that will play with the Deck's awkward resolutionCommon Core education has failed Americans significantly.
>>11997719I've dealt with awkward middle-resolutions before and had problems with older jankier software and had to run it in a lower resolution because of it. A black bar border on all sides on a small handheld screen will look bad.
So many valve steam shills on 4chins
>>11997726>I've dealt with awkward middle-resolutions beforeFalse. 16:10 is a standard, is not a "middle-resolution".>had problems with older jankier software and had to run it in a lower resolutiont. common core zoom zoom>A black bar border on all sides on a small handheld screen will look bad. You’ll experience less letterboxing with a 16:10 aspect ratio compared to 16:9 while playing 4:3 games, do the math.No wonder autistic boomers hoard so much chink e-waste. Bet most of you only emulate one or two consoles on each chinkheld because "muh screen ratio." There's no way you losers are buying those awful 1:1, 2:3, 5:4, 1:1, 8:10 chinkhelds for any other reason.>>11997742>>>/hhg/
>>11997762>t. common core zoom zoomJesus Christ can you speak in anything but dumb /v/ speak? I'm talking about old computer games and DOS shit
>>11997726oled and the pillarboxing are pixels that are literally off. play in the dark, and even better you won't notice the lost space unless you are a true sperg.
anyways I'm off to play jurassic park 1994 on mine with crt shaders, and gyro. :D
>>11997774>Jesus Christ can you speak in anything but dumb /v/ speak? The concession has been accepted.>I'm talking about old computer games and DOS shitKek, are you stupid or just retarded? Which aspect ratio was standard back then, you dumb fuck? You can't be this dense, little bro.Tell the class what ratio Commander Keen and Doom used, come on. You gotta be trolling, or you're the biggest idiot on /vr/.Retro PCs (MacOS 9, MS-DOS, PC-98) ran at 16:10, Anon. DOS games look pixel-perfect on Steam Deck. Four times 320x200 is 1280x800.
>>11997794Jesus Christ you're obnoxious and proof that allowing shit past the Dreamcast was an unrecoverable mistake. You have clearly never played any Eurojank games.
>>11997806>Jesus Christ you're obnoxious and proof that allowing shit past the Dreamcast was an unrecoverable mistake.: (>You have clearly never played any Eurojank games.Guess what? Amiga games are 320x200 too!!! pixel perfect on Deck; no letterboxing.
>>11990482Because I heard deck 2 is coming 2028.
>>11990482My Vita fits in my pocket and runs most games I want to emulate during work breaks.
>>11993872Kek
Playing F Zero GX, is so hard
Bought the 256gb lcd anti glare screen. Love it. Threw on another antiglare protector and it still is great. Idk why the etched glass got such harsh reviews over the slightest diff in screen brightness. Love playing PS2 or even old snes games on a fairly large screen. I admit I still have a phone I play GBA and older handheld games with but for anything else? Man.... the gaming I can do on a steamdeck. I'm not a snob though; I've looked admiringly at the oneXplayer brand of handheld pc and while the controls are whatever, the specs are impressive. I like modular, easily ported pc setups and I don't want a pc that requires a small reactor to run so I love all this modular PC handheld stuff coming out. Most android-helds are cheap garbage so I really like the durability and customer service you get with a steamdeck. Plus Linux.
>>11999410Based. Which game are you currently playing on your Deck?
>>11990482I don't have money and I don't have a job either.
It is literally perfect, almost too perfect. I'm so used to fast forwarding load screens and unskippable bullshit that I find myself hitting select+RT on current gen consoles and being disappointed.
>>12000187twins
>>11998717Because of the sticks, in my 13 years of owning a Vita, I have, not once, put the thing in my pocket. It always goes in its protective case and thrown in my bag for transport. Due to that, I'm not too bothered over the size of the Deck. It goes in the same bag I've had for over 15 years. The Vita is still such a beautiful system and a joy to play on.
>>11991846>1080p oled>3x battery life because arm>can emulate anything the steam deck can>cheaperIf you're only after retro emu the odin 2 portal is better in every way
>>11990482I have, and it's been a great machine for it. First game I emulated was Last Bible on Gamegear. It's alright. Currently bouncing back and forth a bit between Wizardry Gaiden II and Wild ARMs. I think I missed an optional boss and can't go back for it, ah well. I noticed once I got a Deck that I was playing more of my games more often, but I think that's just cuz I've always loved handhelds in general. >>11992987Since you were playing PC-98, I'd recommend Revival Xanadu, or Farland Story off hand. Brandish 1 and 2 are also great. How was 46 Okunen? It's been staring at me in my library for awhile and I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
I already have a PC, and plenty of official consoles and handhelds. If i really needed a portable solution, I'd use my phone.
