Were you an "aim away" or "barrel coverer"?

So the Saturn version of HotDis like this: even with perfect calibration, bullets end up off center when you shoot further away from the center of the screen (pic related). Also bullets tend a split second to travel.
Is it the same in the arcade and PC versions of the game?
This doesn't happen in Virtua Cop.

>barrel coverer
Who tf ever did that? I have never seen someone do that

I suppose it depends on the person's type of TV, distance from TV, and screen settings (such as brightness).

I've also heard the Sega Saturn version wasn't great. So it could be a programming issue. The Dreamcast version was superior.

I got the suggestion from EGM (or one of my game magazines as a kid). It lets you keep the gun pointed at the screen while reloading.

This is emulated so it's a game issue, same circumstances in Virtua Cop leads to no issue
Saturn HotD feels pretty shitty to play because of this imo but I haven't tried the other versions, I guess I'll have to, it's the only HotD I haven't played through

I see. But I personally wouldn't do it You lose style points.

How does it work. You keep both hands on the gun and then use your fingers to block the gun sensor on the tip for reloading? I feel like that would tire out your fingers pretty quickly.

Aim away like in real life.
>>
Aim away, though I've not played an actual light gun arcade until after I discovered that.
Like over ten years ago there was a game store near where I live that focused on retro gaming (one of the first in the country, so much so that it actually made the news. This was -before- the 3DS was even out, just to keep it in perspective).
One Halloween they decided to have a party and one of the competitions they had was House of the Dead on Dreamcast. I'd never played it before, most I knew about it was Screwattack felating it on their videos and that it was really hard. The challenge was to beat the first boss on the hardest difficulty as fast as you can. I figured "well I'll watch the people ahead of me and see just how hard it is".

My name was called first.

I was sweating bullets because it was all new to me so I just think to myself "ok, it's just shooting and reloading. Just gotta do it fast." So I enter full sperg mode and start unloading like lightning on the boss and the fish it throws at you and my hand just twitches like mad to the side to reload. I don't even wait for it to tell me to reload, I just spaz out every 3 or 4 shots just to keep the gun full. I end up beating the boss covered in sweat and looking like an autistic mess and that's when I learned that light gun games are pretty cool.

Basically. A lot of people held light guns under the barrel since they were often designed front-heavy so I guess eventually it evolved to also using your finger in place of firing outside the screen.
>>
Aim away, usually aiming just below the screen.
>>

Aim away. I play the game as intended instead of resorting to lame meta fagging bullshit to be more "efficient".
>>
i grip Revolution X with my palm covering the barrel the whole time because the whole thing is actually a joystick and you got tricked
>>
I was a dual wielder
>>
Outside of the screen.
