They're too fucking hard
>>
>>11992335
there's some definitely some hard parts but it's really not that bad when you get used to it
big thing is (especially in the first one) you wanna amass a stockpile of lives so as to avoid game overing before reaching a save or a plane that leads to a save in the last world
>>
>>11992335
just go back to level 1 and grind 30 lives or so
>>
If you actually find the first 3/4th's of DKC3 hard... Man
>>
Despite the save system, DKC1 is built around being played through all in a row and constantly earning extra lives. The others are much easier and have far less instadeath jumps/barrels you can miss.
>>
DKC2 and its gimmick levels are the worst.
>>
>>11992335
Try playing DKC2&3. They let you play as Dixie who can glide.
>>
The ice levels and oil drum level with the fires can be pretty tough in 1 when you're new to the game, but the games aren't too hard overall.
>>
>Zoomertendie beats DK Bananza, the easiest Nintendo game ever, thinks he did a monumental achievement
>Considers himself now a HUGE FAN of DK so of course he has to go back to the classics
>Gets BTFO
many such cases!
>>
>>11992335
i remember mine cart carnage being complete garbage in DKC1, but i think that was about it for that game. trying to find all the bonus levels was the biggest challenge because i wasn't hand-fed answers by the internet--it wasn't around at the time DKC1 came out. dropping in pits in very specific spots, try to blow everything up, etc. but it wasn't a difficult game. DKC2 i remember bramble blast being a FUCKfest for a bit, but the music was so nice that i couldn't get too mad at the game.
DKC3 started ramping up hidden and collectibles stuff, kinda sucky. the memory game in the cave was complete trash because my memory is complete trash. and that bonus round with the rocket barrel could totally go fuck itself. it just takes a lot of tries to achieve perfection. i see how this can be a filter, but be persistent and don't give up. i believe in you, OP.

>Gen 6+ fag too retarded for games made for children
Stick to baby shit like Morrowind then
>>
>>11992335
DKC1 is just bad actually
>>
>>11992515
revisionism of the same kind as
>REmake sucked
>SM64 was disappointing
>Daikatana is actually great
>>
Only a few levels in DKC1 and the second half of DKC2 is hard
>>
>>11992515
being worse by the later games being naturally better from being built off of it doesn't make it bad, like no one calls mario 1 bad just because 2, 3, and world are better games
>>
>>11992605
>>11992613
No, I think it's legit poorly designed in the later half when there's a shit load of levels that involve instant death canon chaining and one hit kills even if you have two characters at the time. Plus they're just not fun.
>>
1 is easy (except that level and not using hidden barrel). 2 is genuinely hard. Nobody plays 3.
>>
>>11992362
You didn't beat it.
>>
>>11992362
This is how you farm lives like a boss

>>
Low IQ zoomers being filtered and seething at fucking DKC, this is the sort of "people" you share this shithole with in 2025.
>>
>>11993570
it's part of the game hence I did
>>
>>11993845
At least it's novel. I do not feel compelled to hide this thread on sight the way I would with "Zelda II is good no it is bad" thread #93874.
>>
>>11993845
>Noooooo how can you be critical of this timeless classic from my childhood!!!!!!
>>
>>11993845
another day another problem that would easily be solved with age verification
>>
>>11994139
"I'm bad at this game" is not good criticism. It's not even criticism of the game, you're just pwning yourself.
>>
>>11994145
I mean if you're actually brain dead and reduce any complaints down to that then sure, yeah. It's not exactly engaging with the person or actually considering rather or not a game has flaws though.

But hey, you played it when you were 8 so I guess it's impossible it could ever do anything poorly.

Seething at young people on a videogame forum is definitely the best use of the limited time you have in this world.

youre defending this OP btw

Re-read fucking OP again you dumbfuck retard. Kill yourself afterwards also.

>>
Lol not even. What levels are you getting stuck on? Animal Antics doesn't count, I'm talking base levels. I was speed running this shit in elementary school.
>>
>>11992385
you just aren't good at the game
>>
I literally beat these games when I was 8.
>>
>>11992335
they become way easier once you realize you can jump mid-air after rolling off a ledge.
>>
>>11994537
Not him, I did beat the game ages ago but remember getting filtered for a bit in this treehouse level that took place at night in the first game for some reason. The rest of it was smooth sailing.
>>
>>11994217
Seething at people seething at people seething at young people on a videogame imageboard* is definitely the best use of the limited time you have in this world.
>>
>>11994909
Don't you have to do this in some levels? I could've sworn that at least one of the bramble levels in DKC2 require you to use this mechanic
>>
>>11992515
No anon, youre bad

/vr/ is not for children. If you're under 40, prepare to be attacked.

These games are some of the easiest side scroll platformers ever. They were literally made for children.
>>
I can't believe people think the DKC games are fucking hard.
>>
>>11995039
Pretty sure it's only required for 100%. That's why it's considered 'advanced tech' that most players are unaware of.
>>
>>11992335
Most platformers are about finding the rhythm.
Donkey Kong Country is about the game showing you a rhythm and then kicking you in the dick if you follow it.
>>
I don't want to be that anon, but bros I beat this game before I was even cognitive. Just make the monkeys jump bros just get the bannanas
>>
>>11996736
This. Only games made for adults like Gabriel Knight or Riven are truly difficult.
>>
>>11992335
only the third game has a bunch of bullshit levels
>>
>>11996795
I'd say those are made for teens and adults. Games like A train are made for adults.
>>
>>11992605
>having divergent opinion is le revisionism
>>
Non-meme answer, I think they're not that easy (especially 1) if you're not used to them. They feel and control somewhat different than your average 16-bit platformer and you have to get used to it, even if you don't feel like you're having a hard time. Which I guess does speak for these games. They're easy to learn but difficult to master. It takes some time to git gud, which makes them all the more replayable.
>>
>>11996775
make the monkeys clap. happy monkeys
>>
>>11996945
I always laugh when I give my own honest opinion of my personal experience from childhood and some zoomer calls it "revisionism" because it didn't perfectly match the outline given by some video essay he watched by some other zoomer who did all their research through second- and third-hand sources.
>>
>>11996945
It becomes revisionism when you say a game sucks and always sucked instead of saying I dont like this game.
>>
>>11998757
If I don't like a game, it sucks. If the game was good, I would like it.
