I admit, everyone has a softspot for one dommed retro console, like many still love the dreamcast or the saturn, my GF loves the Bandai Pippin while for me is the Jaguar, IDK why but the first time I heard about it I was hooked.
I expirienced the Sega Megadrive(I was 6/7) and after that the PS1, I grew up with a lot of consoles. But this one, after I heard about it on AVGN, the jaguar, even if the video was to shit on it, I loved it.
The history of the making, the games and the developers that worked I love a lot of stuff about it.
I would like to own one with a select list of games, like
>Doom
>AvP
>Wolfenstein
>Tempest 2000
>Rayman
>Cannon Fodder
And many more.
So what console bad or good you wish to own?
>>
i really dont desire any hardware. however, wasnt there a cd-i that had a built-in sega genesis or something? that would be cool for the novelty but i sure as hell am not paying any real amount of money for it

I want to pick up a DC again someday but another console that I want that I have never owned before is the TG-16. Played one a few years back and really liked it. Would be a fun library to explore.

I used to own a TG-16 but I never had the CD add-on so I missed out on a bunch of games that looked so cool to 90's kid me. Although if we're just getting whatever we want I guess I'd go for the Turbo Duo since it's better to have the whole thing as one solid piece
>>
I regret not getting a 64DD back when no one gave a shit/knew about them in the early 2000s. You could get a dev kit for it for the price the regular units go for now.

Also regret not getting the Mother 3 GBA Micro, even though its kinda ugly.

of the failed consoles, I'd really wish I could collect everything for the VIRTUAL BOY, it has a strong concept and brand, fun games and I find the graphics mesmerizing

I do have one with a few games, but it'd be great having the kiosk stand and a full library
>>
>>11994442
just buy one faggot, you live in an age where stores being out of stock dont matter and there's one for sale always somewhere on the internet
>>
>>11994948
The Jag is one of the most expensive consoles now, only the Neo Geo is more expensive aside from really obscure shit
>>
>>11994959
so buy it retard, you dont have a job?

Someone converted a CPS-1 board into a console that takes custom cartridges, I think that is pretty cool. Honestly, I'd like Capcom to make something like this using FPGA and selling CPS-1/2 games on $20 cartridges.
>>
>>11995136
Though, if I have to go by existing consoles, Neo Geo CDZ is a cool choice.
>>
I want a GX4000
>>
>>11994947
The demo kiosk is neat, but i would love to have the set up that the dude who plays Keith Apicary has that you can see him playing in his old videos. A free standing unit from ground level that makes the VB into something like an arcade machine akin to Beachhead 2000. I saw him at a convention one time(semi out of character)and asked him about it and he said he got it from some guy who manufacturers them, and i think he told me details of a website or company, but i forgot them. It was really cool looking though and looked like something official you might have used at an E3 to test out the VB.
>>
>>11994959
Is it? I was at TooManyGays this year, and you could buy them for 300. Considering thats a con that costs a lot to set up at and every vendor needs to pretty much mark everything up, it didn't seem too bad and I was considering getting one if i didn't blow cash on other shit.
>>
>>11994442
if i had the room and money i'd buy them all. i have a Jag but i'd love to have a 3DO and a Saturn(had one but sold back then
>>11994947
i miss my Virtual Boy
>>
>>11994442
I would own one, but basically only use it for tempest 2000 and rayman
>>
For me it would either have to be the FM Towns Marty or an Amiga CD32.
Probably the Marty between the two since I already have an Amiga 1200.
I had a Jaguar back in the day when they were selling the console and three games for $50. I had AVP, Raiden, and NBA Jam. All three great games. I eventually sold it all like an idiot. I eventually found another one at a store up north. I think they just got the jaguar in and the kid behind the counter accidently sold it to me for what they payed for it which was $30. So now I have a Jaguar, a couple of boxed games, but not the great ones I had growing up. I'd like to get the flashcart for it.
I got a couple 3DO's now. They're pretty great. I just recently got Braindead 13 with the manual for it. That was one of the games I had back in the day for it. It's nice to replace what you stupidly sold a long time ago.

Damn that’s cool. Any place where I can read up on this? Give me some sauce por FAVOR.
>>
>>11994442
The tv w the built in NES.
2nd place would be the virtual boy like >>11994947 said because I had one growing up and I really enjoyed it.
3rd I want the best version of the Genesis w addons. The CDX I think it’s called? I’d have to look it up.

You spent a lot of time at “toomanygays” did you?
>>
>>11995728
Not much info on it. It was made in Japan and sold in small quantities for a high price.

>>11995706
The Marty is pretty much the same situation as you mentioned with not needing a CD32, its just a repackaged FM Towns computer.
>>
>>11995868
>its just a repackaged FM Towns computer.
Well I don't have one of those either. I stopped collecting odd computer platforms after getting an Atari STe, ZX Spectrum +2B, and the various Amigas and Atari 8bits. I was planning on getting some Japanese platforms, but the price for shipping just started to get unreasonable and it wasn't long after that the prices for that stuff in general just went too high for me.
>>
>>11995227
That's about right but that's also a lot more than most consoles unless they've gone way up when I wasn't looking
>>
>>11995859
Noice, thx homie!
>>
>>11995150
I got one as soon as the flashcart released, it is actually compatible with the old computer games so it has thousands of games if you consider that, I think its pretty easy to convert them

>>11995706
This would be good, a 2D system with better graphics than the main 16 bit systems. The computer version was supposed to be super common at one time.

I do have a CD32 but it doesn't work, it would be good if they could make a video chip for the Amiga so it could display AGA graphics to play all those new AGA demos.

>>11994442
Astrocade seems good, more advanced than Atari 2600 without the horrible color pallete of Intellivision and Colecovision. For being before NES its really impressive.

Casio PV1000, sort of looks like an MSX but the limitations look better or worse in some areas. Its mysterious, did they copy the TI video of just happen to make something similar. A big failure yet the graphics look a lot better than ZX speccy. They did release the PV2000 with the TI chip so this and the 7800 could be the only 2 times a new console was released that was weaker than the previous one in some way.
>>
>>11994442
>my GF loves the Bandai Pippin

Your gf is an absolute poser
>>
>>11994442
While its expensive a flash cart and a console isnt too much. It holds its value too, so no money lost. Also get the bliss box, its jaguar compatible. Use any controller you want, those pro controllers are also hyper inflated in price.
>>
I just went to a Bookoff to pick up a new DS4. It's one in a way-out location and the prices were mindblowing. They had Saturn, Dreamcast with two controllers and all sorts of shit for cheap. SMRPG in box for cheap. I got a perfect condition DS4 for 2500 yen. Looking at all the shit I said don't tempt me and just bought my shit and went home.

SEGA Nomad
>>
>>11994442
We skipped from NES to N64, so even though I've been emulating them since the late 90s, I'd still want to score a SNES and Mega Drive. I'd also like to try to get at least a Mega CD, and if I could find a good price for one (lol), maaaaybe a 32X.

I would probably not want to bother much with individual games, rather get a pair of flashcarts and then burn some CDs.

>>11994451
I have never heard of such a thing, but I am aware of stuff like the Wondermega, which was a higher end combination of the Genesis/Mega Drive and its CD Addon. Those are pretty pricey now though.

Do the CD-I disks and the Sega CD both use the same disk drive? Is the bottom left the cartridge slot? What a weird console. Pioneer made good shit though so at least the build quality would be good
>>
It's a cliché but Neo Geo. Remember seeing it on a high shelf in game store as a kid. It was like glimpsing God through a cloud. It was next gen before the term "next gen" was invited. The sad thing is I've now played most of it's library via emulation and it's pretty crap. But holding one of those huge carts in my hand would be a dream come true nevertheless.
>>
>>11997118
They have notoriously bad capacitors.
>>
>>11997136
I have two different types of NeoGeo arcade cabs and a couple AES games, but i still need the AES console itself.

i wish i had a laserdisc player back then. even in the late 90's because of PCM sound. i really didn't like the sound compression from DVDs.
>>
I've always wanted a PC-FX since learning about it. I've already got a TG16 and a PCE Duo so it would round out the NEC collection but on top of that it's such a weird fucker I think I'd want it even if I had nothing else. That or a Lynx.
>>
>>11994442
Only for nostalgia reasons, but the Dreamcast. It was the only piece of sixth-gen hardware that I never owned. I was never able to convince my parents to get me one, even during the purges stores did after they discontinued it. I have nothing to play on it that I don't already have access to, but if money wasn't an issue, it would be fun to fulfill that childhood dream.

They did. It's called the A1200.
