The first year with actually playable, enjoyable games that still hold up today. The "Golden Era" of early 80's arcade games are fun for like 2-3 minutes then you get bored and move on.

>>11995747Pitfall came out on the 2600 in 1982, that holds up surprisingly well. Stargate AKA Defender II came out in 1984 along with Pitfall 2 on the 2600 and those truly hold up very well.
Naw. Tons of Williams games are out right bangers. Spy Hunter, Robotron 2084, Satan's Hollow, and so on are excellent score chasers.
>>11995747not true, the og donkey kong is still really fun.
>>11995831You're right and OP is a fag, but a lot of early arcade games would've benefited from stuff introduced just a few years later. Bubble Bobble wouldn't of been nearly as fun if it was only 4-5 repeating levels.
>>11995747Pretty much the nes/Famicom saved gaming

>>11995760>>Tetris (NES)Tetris hadn't even left the Soviet Union by this point. The NES version wouldn't come out for another four years.
>>11995772Yeah pitfall absolutely rules. I was cynical about the atari 2600 until I played that and saw the light. Very ambitious game for the time
>>11995747>then you get bored and move on.I don't get bored, I git gud.Obviously just as unrealistic for you are not projecting
