>replicate my hometown team in Dynasty>Noles have me pinned at 2nd and long at my own 20>form up for a punt... kicker instead takes the ball and sprints for open field, blindsiding Florida State>pick up 30 yards and a 1st down>crowd loses its mindboy oh boy, nothing beats college football
>my euro brain trying to decipher the story above
every guy i've ever known who was really into football seemed like a closet fag.
>>11996628>30th consecutive time my team runs a fake punt
>>11996816you know rugby? it's kinda like that. >>11996871it works pretty often because the AI doesn't seem to remember consistent unorthodox plays. it's pretty good about remembering what regular plays you run and being prepared for them, but doing silly stuff like punting on first down or making your QB scramble constantly really confuses it.
>>11996816You should try to expose yourself to new cultures and experiences. It'll enrich your life.
>>11997003Where do you think you guys come from? :)
>>11996628I love creating or replicating teams, it's just SOVL.
>>11997781the NCAA football games had all the Division I-A teams, but only a partial list of the I-AA, at least on PS1. unfortunately both of my local teams were I-AA at the time, so I made one. The team creator suite is pretty limited, basically just name and colours and division. I also checked out the NCAA March Madness games, and there's no team creator like in the Football games which is really lame. March Madness doesn't even have all the DivI teams from back then, or at least they didn't have my local squad despite them being DivI at the time. I'm shocked they never bothered to make a MiLB game, the Minors have the same sort of fanbase as college football/basketball.
Ok but what's the best Madden on PS1?
>>119982462002 is the last one to get anything new, with the 'Classic' mode that changes the gameplay and graphics to be like the old Genesis games. They kept making PS1 ports until 2005 I think but they were just roster updates of 2002 with nothing else changed. So, it depends on which roster/team ratings you like the most from 02-05.
>>11996628How are the non-EA CFB games?
>>119983062K had the same gameplay as their NFL titles so they /play/ better, but EA had a better Dynasty mode (NCAA version of Franchise mode) and EA had all the licenses for the various bowls and conferences and the like. 2K was missing some so they had generic fake ones to stand in. the 989 games sucked, and only existed to bait idiots into thinking it was the EA game. so basically the rule of thumb was the same as with the NFL games: 2K for PvP, EA for single player.
>>11998229I just checked and March Madness is missing like half of the NCAA DI conferences from back then. AmEast, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, CAA, MAAC, MAC, MCC, Mid-Continent, MVC, NEC, OVC, Patriot, TAAC, SBC, and SLC.
>>11998328The MAC is a pretty big omission. The Sun Belt I can understand because they weren't really a big thing then but wow
>>11999652they wouldn't get the full DivI roster until 2004, from what I can tell.the football games had SWAC, MEAC, and Ivy League to represent DivIAA. I get the feeling they only included them because of Ivy's importance to the history of the sport.
ncaa 06 is the best one

>>12000756the numbers are play calls, to change the scrimmage formation (same as a ruck in rugby)punts exist in rugbypasses exist in rugby (though not forward passes, just laterals)dancing in the end zone is a penalty in college football, unsportsmanlike behaviourthe only real rule differences between the two football allows for a forward pass behind the line of scrimmage, and the play ends when the ball carrier is tackled. you remember that and the game makes sense.
