I want to buy an adapter to use PS2 controller on Gamecube. There are many on eBay. Is there any specific one I should look for or avoid?
>>
>>11999147
Why would you need a dualshock when the gamecube controller is perfectly acceptable. Hell won't you lose functionality on some games because of the integrated trigger buttons?
>>
I think most any of them would do the job, but I agree with >>11999153 that it's a bit of a fruitless effort for a lot of games. If you're looking solely for a stronger d-pad, the SNES to GC adapter by Raphnet is really good.
>>
>>11999153
The dpad suck. I want to play Resident Evil
>>
>>11999157
Where is this myth coming from that the Dpad for the gamecube is bad? I've never heard of this before. Also if you want to play Resident Evil with a better dpad aren't their literally dozens of ports to choose from?
>>
>>11999156
Also as a quick addendum: Raphnet does offer a Classic Controller to GCN adapter, which has a great dpad and the layout is very similar to the PS2. The original Classic Controller also does feature analog triggers, but I can't tell if they work on Gamecube titles. The Pro controller has far better ergonomics but sadly uses digital triggers.

>Instead suggest you dont need it
Just stfu retard and don't reply

I used to use some cheap Chinese one back in the early 2000s, be wary of them, it added a significant amount of delay. I suggest you check reviews or something before you purchase any of them, especially the Chinesium ones
>>
Any adapters for the og Xbox?
>>
>>11999147
The only issue you could get from the chinese one is that the button conversion might not be what you think. I got a PS2 to XBOX adaptor and the 4 buttons layout did not match the original controller.

Otherwise lag CAN be an issue with some adaptors but it's rare. It's sort of a coin flip with chinese products but I only had an issue once. Of course if you want to be sure of quality you go with raphnet (if they have it in stock) but they're expensive.

Get a Mayflash adapter, works well with a DS and a DDR pad

>>11999156
Are those even in stock? Seems he hasn't restocked his shit for like 2 years. Sad since Raphnet is best quality
>>
>>11999180
Both the SNES to GC and Classic to GC adapters are in stock, surprisingly. I can definitely vouch for the SNES one being great but for Gamecube games the Classic is probably more ideal

Watch your language

I got one of those a decade ago and I was amazed at how much better it made playing Resident Evil games on GC. Gameplay felt so tight and responsive. It made me realize how shit GC controllers really are.
>>
>>11999147
>Is there any specific one I should look for or avoid?
No. Just avoid them all.
>>11999164
>Where is this myth coming from
It's been a maymay here for many summers.
>>
>>11999171
>Want to do something stupid
>Gets upset people call them stupud
>>
>>11999164
It's the stiffest d-pad of that generation. I've never seen anyone suggest otherwise, what are you trying to sell?
>>
>>11999321
Another anon who recognizes the shills (paid marketers) they're continually talking shit about controllers to sell gamesaar and 8bitdodo shit.
>>
>>11999147
If you’re using a softmodded Wii, Nintendont allows other controllers to be used through including through the USB ports. The GC is shit
>>
>>11999164
People have been shitting on the gamecube dpad since it was new. Were you even alive back then? It's main problem is that's it's just too damn small
>>
>>11999321
it's stiff because you don't use it. the rubber becomes mushy as you use it.
>>
>>11999580
Mine just gets stiffer the more I play with it
>>
>>11999147
All the chink ones are terrible, unless you just want to use it for the dpad. The analog range on those adaptors is horrendous
>>
>>11999164
Being contrarian doesn’t make you cool. Unless you have hands the size of a toddler, the dpad is barely usable.
>>
Why do people do this

Pot meet Kettle

Is this some kind of troll thread? At that point just emulate on of and use a 360 controller or something. The ps2 controller is the worst feeling of that generation. It’s blocky and too small so my hands just cramp up using it after an hour. I train my forearms all the time and can see my forearm veins because I work with my hands for a job. the ps2 controller is just small and uncomfortable. It’s made for tiny people. Controller for ants unironically.

Say what you will about the GameCube but when you hold the controller it just feels good in the hands. They could have improved or changed some of the buttons but the base shape of the controller is amazing.

>Being contrarian doesn’t make you cool.
You're right. It doesn't make you cool. Nothing ever will.
