I just finished Tokimemo 1 last night. To my understanding, these stats pull by through by the skin of my teeth. My girl Rolodex is pretty empty since I learned how to put off meeting girls indefinitely. You can only meet a girl if you raise their respective stat on a school day, so by relegating your stat raising to weekends, holidays, and summer/winter/spring break, you can get your stats sufficiently high without ever meeting anyone. At some point (I think after the start of the third year), you loose the ability to meet new girls, so you can start grinding stats more aggressively.I feel conflicted about doing this. On one hand, it adds a ton of depth to the order you raise stats, something that normally doesn't matter and is usually the most boring part of the game. On the other hand, I feel like it trivializes the dating aspect of the game. To some extent, metagaming how many girls you meet feels intentional. I can't imagine Shiori's ending is attainable if you meet everyone. Still, ending with only three girls met seems silly. I might go back and do another Shiori playthrough where I try to meet more people.Anyway, this game is very fun. Tokimemo 2 looks awesome, so if the English patch ever comes out it will probably be the rare day one play for me.
>>11999573Oh that's good to know! Yuina (science waifu) is kicking my ass on dates. Never know what to say to her and worried about bombs constantly.
>>11999274>15 years old are childrenTypical mutt thinking
>>11999169>transsexual fanfiction translation with pronouns and memes>wants this shit to call you by your namekek
>>11999215Are there dating sims where the women are all MILFs?
>>11999515Why? EP's localization is fine outside of a few changed names
>>11999573I got Shiori on my first try while missing only 3 or 4 girls and going in semi-blind as I knew only that I should have all stats pretty high, no exact values. Honestly I can't even remember any close calls with bombs on that playthrough, I always managed to disarm them before they became a serious problem. The one call per week mechanic is mighty stupid though, so I might have savescummed a few times I think.
>>11999631There is a sort of twisted logic to Yuina's dialogue prompts that I appreciate. You can't just pick the romantic option or whatever. You really have to put yourself in the mindset of a highly egotistical, slightly psychopathic teenage girl.
>>11999282anyone that self inserts instead of roleplays is a bigger loser
I wonder how feasible it would be to make an MSU-1 patch for SFC Tokimeki 1 that re-adds all the voice acting. The usual method of making an MSU-1 patch wouldn't work since the only direct audio streaming the MSU-1 supports is CD-quality PCM (uncompressed) audio. The MSU-1 only supports up to 4 GB of data, and there are simply too many voice lines to fit into 4 GB without compression. There are other methods of streaming audio on the SFC, though, and those other methods use ADPCM (compressed) audio which could definitely allow everything to fit in 4 GB.Would it be worth it to make such a thing? Would anyone ever use it instead of the ~forever with you~ patch someone will someday inevitably finish?

>>12003178>MSU-1 patch for SFC Tokimeki 1 that re-adds all the voice acting. An obvious problem with this is that a lot of scenes are different in the SNES version than how they are in any other version, so no voice acting exists for them. The prologue, for example, has Shiori explain the legend of the tree in the SNES version, while Yoshio explains it in every other version. The class trip is completely different in the SNES version, offering you the choice to go to either Australasia or China rather than one of three different regions in Japan like it does in every other version. There would have to be unvoiced lines seemingly at random, which is not a complete deal breaker but it would be fairly detrimental to the experience. For what its worth, most of the dialogue is the same across every version. They seemingly only changed stuff when a scene used a large number of bespoke graphics and they deemed it not important to be worth the cartridge space. As far as I can tell, all the dates are the same, and that's the most important thing.
>>11999573Do you metagame like that when meeting women in real life?

Not playing any of these games until the real version of the first one gets translated(Saturn). I refuse to play the sequel or the massively downgraded SNES port.
