>Ma/vr/icks are now on suicide watchAdmit it, you cheated.
of course i did, video games are primarily an audio/visual experience for me, and even when the gameplay is the best part, i don't have time to "get good", if i get stuck i'm hopping on the first bus to cheat town and moving on with my life
I got the true ending in Gimmick! playing on an emulator, but I didn't use save states or anything. except that one room before the last hidden item where you're expected to make a retardedly precise star jump and failing it means you have to make ANOTHER retardedly star precise jump just to get back up there again
>>11999834Game Genie was fun yeah. But I only sometimes cheated.
>>11999834Depends on the game. Cheating is just another layer of fun you can have, especially when you’re a kid and your goal is more to have fun than to scratch another game off your bucket list.
>>11999834>on suicide watchqueer speech.
>>11999834Why would I cheat? The game is fun, I want to play more of it.If it isn't fun, I'd rather just not play at all.
>>11999834honestly no. if i got stuck in a game i just gave up.
It kinda depends if infinite lives should be a thing or not. Could have just been an arbitrary holdover from arcades. It could be added as an additional difficulty option as some games did give you.
>>11999834>le heckin wholesome reddit comicgo back
What NES games even had ingame "infinite life" cheat codes, as in not memory editing like game genie. Infinite life not infinite lives.
>>11999834Infinite lives is less cringe than people who use save states, especially in games that start you at the beginning of a level after you die.
>>11999834that's some pretty neat handwriting, shame the pen used to write it is very ugly by it's tapering nature
>>11999834i played rpgs :)just level up
>>11999834>>11999982>>11999991>>11999997is this the best nu-sharty can do kek
>>11999834Correct I had an action replay and I broke every GameCube game wide open. I'm kidding, I used action replay to make Rouge big and small over and over to make her tits bounce and l i t e r a l l y nothing else because I had nothing but multiplayer games and SA2 and they already had their shit unlocked
>>11999834What a little faggot. Any other kid would think it's cool and want that code.
>>12001260This. Kids who were against cheating were all hall monitor snitch types.
>>11999834sometimes, yeah. almost never nowadays, certainly a lot more often back when i was a kid and shit at video games.go too far with the cheats and the experience just feels empty, gotta find a good middle ground for the game to stay at least a little bit challenging.
>>12001308Perfect middle ground for me is toughest difficulty with constant ammo/all weapons cheats.
>>11999834I just cant stand how stingy jrpg are with money. Not only that, I have to sell my items for half of its real value?Nah man im using a cheat for infinite gil.
>>12001297To be honest. The guys today that are against save states and rewind most of them used to play around with game genies. The thing is though with game genies. You had to find the codes. Put the game on the Game Genie. Put the codes into the Game Genie. And sit there and play it with the game sticking out of the console with the game genie. You did it to mess around and have fun with the game. However when it came time to playing the game with other people. That game genie was put away. Personally I'm fine with save states. At least it takes premediated intention to use them. However with rewind you're not even playing the game. The game is playing you.
Okay, I cheated. What're you gonna do about it?
>watch brother play vector-man>get all the way to final stage>something in real life interrupts and gets him damaged while distracted>doesn't want to redo entire game>enters a cheat code to get that health back and nothing more>pic related instead of real endingBrutal. But honestly, it annoyed us as kids but now I think it's cool when they put stuff like that in.
>>12002802It was one of those pause the game and enter a combination codes. I wish games had more of those still.
