This isn't too surprising. There are still a lot of Japanese people who have no idea about the value of games. Yeah most lots are thoroughly picked over by collectors so the chances of getting anything good for sub market value are rare, but still possible, and certainly possible to strike gold from buying blind box lots off of Japanese stores or individuals who just think it's a bunch of old junk.Granted, shipping can be expensive and 99% of the time you will indeed wind up with boxes full of $1 carts. But sometimes you could conceivably get something decently valuable.
>>12003028And this really is a "takes money to make money" sort of deal. Pink Gorilla probably only wound up with this because they wete chucking down cash to get a huge bulk of Famicom stuff to line their shelves. Most individuals aren't going to want to pay hundreds of dollars+shipping to get several hundred loose Famicom carts with the very slim odds that they get something of value. This also isn't the only story of striking gold in a lot, in fact the prototype cartridge of the unreleased JP version of Monster Party (which I must say is a few million times more interesting than this random Go game) was obtained in a box lot buy.
>>12002989>Kelsey id go gorilla on her pink if you know what im sayin
>>12002989Is this another case of coomlector creams his panties because he owns a game that hasn't been dumped yet?
>>12003095can't be, it looks like he dumped ithttps://datomatic.no-intro.org/index.php?page=show_record&s=45&n=1031
>>12003139That's a relief, glad the guy cared.
woow dude check out the unplayable trash I have it's le rare!
>>12003139Hasn't it been dumped before? This doesn't appear to be supremely rare or anything, unless the copies I see for sale in Japan are all bootlegs.
>>12003161it has been dumped for years, but the new dump got the game verified on dat o matic
>>12002989More of Japan's heritage being looted by filthy gaijin.
>>12003257Real. This has actually become a political issue in Japan since used game stores were supposed to be cyclical and foreign parasites have kinda ruined this arrangement.A party that promised to bar foreigners from the secondhand market won a lot of local seats.
>>12003637>>12003257Counterpoint: if the game is something truly rare and possibly undumped, it has a much better chance of being preserved if sold to a foreigner. If it goes to a Japanese collector, it is typically never seen again, or at best winds up in the hands of a clueless "expert" who will throw it in some chinkshit aftermarket console, parade it around on Twitter for a few dozen followes, then put in a drawer and forgotten, until it comes time to parade it around again for more social media clout.
>>12003704Very few Japanese collectors are willing to dump their "national treasures". I still remember years ago when a prototype Famicom JRPG got in the hands of a Japanese collector solely to gatekeep it from foreigners.
>>12004001Patriot.
>>12004001God, it was so cool when every piece of electronics looked like it was from the set of Alien.
>>12003028Nope japanese simply move forward because technology is cheap made by a poor country (yes japan still thinks that way) as such they won't overprize shit because of manchild retarded collectors.>mutt collector : wooihhh i have the rarest game released in japan for cheap.>game isn't rare and millions got made.>japan make collector figures, only a thousand unit.>mutt collector : that is commonly mae and cheap no one cares. So you see retarded mutts always show their stupidity by overprizing shit made in millions but real collector stuff they won't even bother with it.>famicom mini gold plated collector edition just a thousand units.>no mutt buying the special version. How much for rovkman 1 to 6 original, along dragoon quest 1 to 4, final fantasy 1 to 3.
>>12004270You're complaining that people are buying games instead of figurines, and then you complain that people aren't buying the special edition of some gay newly made clone? Not even a clone just a Pi in a box.
>>12004469You didn't get it, is not about that is about retard behaviour of hipster trying to scam others and nothing else, same shit as bitcoin. But isn't as valuable and easy to make just as bitcoin since game is dumped, no need for plastic and old electronics currently, just think that in china you can buy the piece and make your own stuff.Take for example hipsters like you go insane overprizing shit but if someone sells it at lower prize they go insane either humiliating the person online or trying harrasment to sell it at same prize as them which is just pathetic, if you aren't playing games why are jew following the trend of collecting, it serves no purpose at all specially with something on their last days that will last 2 to 3 years top before becoming a brick, cd and dvd are suffering from time so there is no point on collecting. Is like those iphone fags that will report sellers selling used iphones for cheap as selling counterfeit despite being original.
>>12004469Anon is Japanese. In Shinto, the hardware is important for what it DOES, not what it COSTS. So collecting figurines (designed to be looked at) makes sense but collecting games you aren’t playing is wasteful.
>>12004553he's played the game that he bought, so what's the fuzz about not playing if it is being played here?
>>12004586NTA but I just fear foreigners.
>>12004516>is not about that is about retard behaviour of hipster trying to scam others and nothing elseIs it? Some people like this as a hobby and aren't in it purely for monetary gain. Many hobbyists will trade things and sell them to move something else into their collection too, this isn't limited to vidya or retro hardware or whatever. When you say overpriced, what do you mean? How do you determine the fair price of something no longer made? Or even something newly made but in limited quantities? What's fair?>>12004553Plenty of Japanese collect things they don't actively use. It may not be predominant but they do. I think a lot of the complaining is from people who want things at a price they say is fair. Not what the market supports. These are the same people who say the eBay Buy It Now price is THE price for everything of that particular type. We've seen 100 of those threads.
>>12003041I've seen her many times in person. She is looking ROUGH these days. She was a full on qt3.14 back in the day, ngl.Pink Gorilla is shitty retro game store desu.
