Were you a FIFA virgin or a PES chad?
>>
>>12004115
PES all the way .. International Superstar Soccer to give its correct title.

FIFA is an arcade game, ISS is a simulation
>>
>>12004115
Neither, I'm not into soccer. The only two soccer games I've played are Nintendo World Cup Soccer (NES) and Fox Sports Soccer '99 (PSX).
>>
Even before I've learned to appreciate football games I saw WE/PES as the superior games. There are nuances in the way it controls that I don't like from FIFA games.
>>
You now remember the third one, the one from Sony:
This is football, it had 6 entries
>>
>>12004115
Winning eleven 4 for me in the ps1 and PES 2010 for the ps2.
>>
>>12004182
it was better than fifa, too bad the competition with pes killed him. still not a bad game.
>>
>>12004115
I was a Fifa 2002 chad
>>
>>12004118
>FIFA is an arcade game, ISS is a simulation
I thought it was the other way around
>>
>>12004504
During 6th gen era? ISS was the simulationist one, even if still kinda arcadey. It started to change in the 7th gen when EA stole several Konami devs
>>
>>12004504
>>12004539
Also because it can be confusing, but during 6th gen, Konami diverted the franchise in two different paths, WE/PES for the Playstation/XBOX (the simulationist ones, following the blueprint of the PS1 ISS games) and ISS for the GameCube, more arcadey, following the blueprint of the N64 games.

Always played pes 5 and 6 but I see a lot of people here mentioning 2010, what improvements does it have?
>>
Fifa 98 indoor mode chads where we at?

How was this game?
>>
>>12005439
It was mostly the soundtrack, my favorite soundtrack in any soccer game.
>>
>>12004115
fifa 96, 98, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, then PES 3, PES 4, back to fifa 07, 10, 13, then FM 2013, 2014, 2015, rocket league, and eventually back to fifa 23
>>
>>12007417
Fifa Street 2 is better in every way, and it has a giga based soundtrack with a lot of jungle/dnb, super fun game.
>>
>>12004115
>>
>>12004118
This... except the actual correct title is Winning Eleven.

Never knew anyone that played FIFA Street 1, considering the second one released less than a year later in some markets and was 10x better in every way.
FS2 was a sensational game, I remember one time at my cousin's birthday party, we had a tournament with like 20 kids and throughout the whole day I fucking schooled every single one and won and was like the coolest motherfucker for a day
>>
Sports games are for poor people. They are on clearance a month after release.
>>
>>12004115
Football is for impoverished third worlders
>>
I got into PES too late, PES 2008 on PS2 made me realise I was playing the wrong series for footballing gameplay. It was so cool how it mixed the fun of arcade with the immersion of realistic gameplay, e.g. 50/50 balls felt genuine, while in FIFA up to that point it was always obvious which player would win the ball.
This was around the time that FIFA finally got good however, albeit on seventh gen consoles.

kek I loved this game so much and to hear that Fifa Street 2 was so much better confuses my 10 year old self. For some reason I just didn't like FS2. The soundtrack and the default camera really sucked to me and it didn't feel as good to play
>>
>>12004115
Pes all the way, I don't remember the differences between the two
>>
I played both FIFA and PES/WE a lot, but not much else and generally against friends.
I've been craving a footy game with good singleplayer progression, like choosing/creating a team and taking it to the top, or being a player/manager and managing your career and stuff. What's your favorite football game to do stuff like that, anons? It doesn't have to be a PES or FIFA title.
>>
>>12009441
I didn't even know PES existed until 2011. My last Fifa was 2005 and then I played Fifa 2011, loved that then I tried PES 2011 and that was the best soccer game I ever played.

FIFA sucked major balls.
Konami always did the better games.

Soccer is gay so no, I ain't no soccer playing faggot.
>>
>>12010040
Shit taste bruv, try again without being a faggot this time.
>>
>>12010184
I remember playing the sequel for GameCube at my friend's, I quickly caught the trick to score freekicks any time I wanted with certain players (Rivaldo was the easiest), made him seethe a lot while winning all matches 7-0. Nigga just stop fouling me, that's all you needed to do.

>>

good taste anon.
>>
>>12010876
it took way too long before sports games let you pick and play as just one character, forcing you to stick to that one role whilst the COM plays everything else.
>>
>that guy who exclusively plays PES
Was that you?
The other day, my niece complained to me that her boyfriend only wants to play PES and, occasionally, NFS Underground 2.
